On episode two we get more context on how Phillip and Evelyn started, also get to know more why Phillips life is so mess up I knew he had some ghost in the closet with Evelyn, doesn’t seem like a big deal but once a women doesn’t trust you anymore its hard to get it back, there are many variables that screw up his life very quick, he might fix one thing but then two more brake and there is one that is constantly hunting him and that’s his financials that are not constantly affected when ever he wasn’t to jump back in time, looks like that’s an expensive ticket to pay for.
SourceAfter watching episode 1 I ask myself why they were not married yet and thought it was Phillip postponing because either he wanted to build up the firm or safe for the house or something else related to making money because that’s the message I get from Evelyn, Phillip is all about work and doesn’t care about what she wants anymore but turns out he was going to ask her to marry him just that he hold back for some strange reason “Iron is forge when its hot” you cant hold back important decisions in life because you might regret it latter on, its not only about that he miss the opportunity because he still has it but that he had doubts and let him to think he could redo the moment again, fall into doubt on something like that might mean that either he is not be prepare.
After he jump back in time to safe his relationship with Evelyn, Phillip has been trying to fix things and keep everything under control but still not evaluating the consequences, Evelyn is playing again and it seems he is supporting her so if you get home and you know you are on thin ice with your partner because you are workaholic either because you want it or not, that has to stop the moment you get home and dedicate some time to your woman, Phillip gets a call from Patrick at night to interview a lawyer who will take care of their first big client account.
Miranda Delano, a lawyer that in the past Phillip got caught exchanging text messages that compromise him so I could only imagine when Evelyn finds out that Phillip left home after he got late when she was playing to go an interview Miranda, its true that he didn’t know but no woman on earth is going to believe that, we also discover that not only he lies to Evelyn he also lie to Patrick when he said he didn’t sleep with her, technically that’s not a lie but he is misleading Patrick.
Their client still has some land to purchase from local home owners in the area of the project so in the meantime Phillip and Patrick have to hunt this owners and get the to sell and aside from how Phillip manage his business Patrick kinda use slick techniques to get what he wants, after all they are partners, Patrick is not only sleeping with an agent on his client firm but now he hires the daughter of one of the local land owners who refuse to sell to convince him to. I once had an experience to work with someone who was use to do things this way, trying to always outsmart people, over spending and risking more than aloud, working on the edge of whats legal or not and let me tell you it never ends well. At this point Phillip haven’t told Patric about Miranda and for that he is soon to pay the prize not only with Patrick but with Evelyn too.
Evelyn dedicate to her music this time, its not that she doesn’t care anymore about things at the office but after all that’s not the profession she is after so anything that may puts her music in jeopardy will be set aside and move on, same goes for Phillip and the firm.
The nail in the coffin, Phillip as is on fire, Miranda meets Evelyn but looks like she doesn’t know Evelyn knew about her short story with Phillip, he panics and tries to schedule a jump back in time but guess what he is out of funds, this gives the time travel theme a nice twist since I don’t remember in other time travel movies people had to pay although in Back to the Future they had to go fast enough with some sort of fuel so that could be the same as paying with money??
Phillip is fucked and now he has to face reality and fix things the old way, talking and promising the moon and starts to Evelyn.
Phillips visit Evelyn at her lessons, with roses, I literally laugh at the mans pain, his face and obviously the moment he open his mouth Evelyn snap about Madison so they end up arguing about it until she cuts him off and went back to the room she was playing.
When animals are corner they usually do what ever they can to save their ass, humans do the same. Phillip with no money to pay to jump back in time and about to loose Evelyn because he lied to Patrick about Madison and end up hiring her plus met Evelyn at work, he now starts to take drastic actions. He fired Madison at her place without consulting Patrick and in the background Phillip’s brother has been drinking again hanging out with his buds at work so he goes to his brother work and ask the guys to don’t let him drink because he is an alcoholic and wont aloud him see his daughter if he is not under control, you just cant do that he probably got his brother embarrassed in front of his co workers plus he could end up depress as his self steam is all over the floor.
The stupidity of Phillip’s drastic actions get to a point and now he is trying to put off a fire with gasoline, he is burning everyone around him just to keep Evelyn with him.
Karma is a bitch, this is when life decided to shit all over Phillip.
Some how after burning everyone around him he manage to convince Evelyn to reset and start over, on the side lines his brother is missing who knows where he is at or even if he still alive. Phillips is about to ask Evelyn to get married and the voice of conscience talk to her in the background, Evelyn says yes but only after she decides to come clean and confess she cheat on him too.
Phillips snaps and loose it, it looks like he never had something with Madison but he did flirt with her over chat, but Evelyn did sleep with some one else, in a very classy way he throws the ring to the ocean and walks away.
This series really tells you what not to do when you are in a relationship, I’m starting to think that they shouldn’t be together but Phillip doesn’t like to loose and is always trying to control and manipulate others, this time he is the one who decides to finish things but if his brother kills himself and he decides to go back in time to avoid it then he will end up back with Evelyn and most likely will try to fix things again, take it like a sales offer purchase one and get one free, go back in time to safe his brother and Evelyn comes free but he will probably have to jump way father in time than a day, he will probably go back before Madison gets hired, it all comes back to the first scene where I think he already jump back in time before he meets Evelyn.
Even though there is no super heroes, shooting or action this drama is interesting and gets me thinking what will happen next.
