The story follow Paul’s and his twin son Thomas and Joseph, living in a remote farm, away from any kind of conflict. The world has an excess of pollution caused by humans but the worst in that are also some creatures that know are living in the planet, those monsters hunt and kill any living beings in their path. Paul and his sons daily routines are almost the same, looking wood in the forest, drive for the farms fields to see is something new or different happen and reinforce all the system of barriers Paul’s has created to keep the house secure during the night, there’s also an important rule that they most follow be in the house before sunset to be safe. Despite all the rules Paul sons are teenager and as teenager they are not extent of do stupid things even though the world is ending. Thomas has visited a location where he met Charlotte and they create a nice relationship, she live in a fortified community and Thomas go there every time he can until one day something unexpected happen Thomas doesn’t arrive to his house on time because he felt into a slit and find himself trapped in the woods in the night, afraid for what could happen to his son Paul’s didn’t think to much and leave the house in search of Thomas and Joseph is going as well to save his brother. When they finally found Thomas he was surrounded by a monsters, Paul decided to create a distraction so his sons can run together away from there but while doing that Paul get injured and the monster attacked him so his sons fight against them and save his father and start looking for help. Since this moment Paul, Thomas and Joseph decided that they are tired of hiding and decided to fight for their freedom and their life. We are going to witness a family union fighting together embracing fear, darkness, courage and hope.

The movie was directed by Benjamin Brewer a director that is a visual effects specialist and that has a fabulous way to make the cast work in a healthy environment, leading the cast is Nicholas Cage as Paul, the father that will fight and die if it is necessary for his sons, also an actor that welcomed the younger generation of actors that work with him in this movie. Arcadian will premiered on April 12th, in theaters.

Behind the Scenes with Director Benjamin Brewer

Benjamin Brewer is an American director, screenwriter and visual effects specialist. Brewer is known for the movie The Trust 2016, a crime thriller starring Nicholas Cage and Elijah Wood, in that movie they explores the dark world of corrupt cops and botched robbery, he also participated in the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once 2023 as the visual effects specialist and in 2023 he directed the short A Folded Ocean. In addition to his work the director has directed music videos such as 2U of David Guetta feat Justin Beaber and Where Are U Now of Skrillex & Diplo feat Justin Beaber. Now in this project the director is bringing with horror story, working for second time with Nicholas Cage in a very unique role as a single father, with this movie Brewer wants to give to the audience a not only horror also action, suspense and the importance of the family.

The World of Arcadian

The world of Arcadian is set in a post apocalyptic world where Paul’s with his twin sons Thomas and Joseph are trying to survive. During the day Paul’s work to reinforce the system of barriers and locks that are in the house because during the night the monster try to enter the house. Paul’s create rules for them like they all must be in the house before sunset to be safe but one day Thomas doesn’t returned home on time forcing Paul leave their shelter to search for him, at the moment that Paul found Thomas he was surrounded by monsters so he decided to create a distraction to save his son life, the same work but Paul ended very injured forcing the kids to take of them and his dad and creating in the trio a frustration and the same time strength to fight for a better life. Each night to the work this monsters bring darkness, tension, terror and the uncertainty to know where do these monsters come from and if will be an opportunity for humankind.

Critical Reception and Audience Expectations

The critics for the movie are mixed, some are pleased with the great performance that Nicolas Cage gives in this new role and a different one as a single father taking care of their twin sons in a broken world. Also the young actors Jaeden Martell and Maxwell Jenkins create a great synergy giving excellent performances. In addition, the critics mention that the CGI, the action scenes and the creation of the monster were well done with a unique design. But as always, not everything is perfect. One thing that is mention is the lack of information in the movie such as what the monsters are, why they appeared?, where they are coming from?, what is the kind of relationship that Paul’s has with his sons?, why only they are in the house?, many questions that are unanswered, but despite those questions, the truth is that the movie has good critics and the audience seems to be really excited to see how the monsters look and how father and sons are going to live and survive in that world.

The Arcadian (2024) Cast

The movie is lead by the legendary actor Nicholas Cage as Paul. Cage is known for his versatile performances in films such as Gone in 60 Seconds of 2000, Ghost Rider 2007, National Treasure 2004 and City of Angels 1998. He is an actor that has won an Academy Awards, a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award and was also nominated for two BAFTA Awards. Jaeden Martell plays Joseph, Paul’s teenage son. Arcadian is another movie that brings monster to this world that want to destroy the human race, humankind is really so bad?, apparently yes because many writers and filmmakers want us dead but well. Remembering the audience the world of Last of US and A Quite Place, now Arcadian is giving Paul’s, a single dad with his twin sons living in a far away farm, trying to live a peaceful life in the world were only humans can walk during the day because when the moon is in the sky the monster take the control of the land. Nicholas Cage is Paul’s, the guardian father that is trying to do his best to keep save his children, two teenagers that not only want don’t want to stay home, they want to meet with other survivors and have the most “normal” life and experiences that an teenager can have, even though is the end of the world. This movie is going to show one more time the unlimited love that a father have for a son, the power of survival a human can embrace to safe what he love and the conviction to create a future for his next generation, also the director is going to take them to the limits to achieve their goals in a world where every thing seems to be lost. A movie full of horror, tension, action but overall family love.

The story follows Gracian “Gray” Parish a retired wheel man that is living an amazing life with his family, he run his own company and lives in a nice suburban home, he is living the average American life but he is also carrying a pain due to his son dead who was killed a year ago during a shooting but the case is still unsolved. One night an old friend and partner in crime named Colin visited Gray and asked, lets better says that Colin begs Gray for help, he is in a dept with the Tongai family, a group of Zimbabwean gangsters and needs Gray to complete a mission due to he is the most capable driving man that he knows, Gary begrudgingly agrees to help Colin but let him know that this will be the last time. The day of the mission arrived but the initial plan goes wrong forcing Gray reroutes things, changing his clothes and stealing a new vehicle, apparently at the end everything ends well, calling the attention of the Tongais siblings and they trying to retain his services but he always refusing to it. Since that moment Gray’s met the Tongais siblings and realized that he just get involved in something huge and bad that is human trafficking and also acknowledged that he is going to need to drive faster than before all to keep his family safe.

The series Parish is going to give a lot of action, pursuit, is going to give a view of real friendship or friendship that just can ruin your life also is going to demonstrate one more time what a person is capable of doing for the well-being of his family. Giancarlo Esposito take the lead role as Gracian “Gray” Parish, Esposito is known for his portraying as Gus in the acclaimed TV series Breaking Bad, as well in the prequel series Better Call Saul, for that role he won a Critic’s Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2012 and earned three nomination for a Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, Esposito has established his career as one of the most versatile and talented actors in the industry. Arica Himmel as Makayla Parish, Himmel is an American actress best known for her role as Rainbow “Bow” Johnson in the comedy series Mixed Ish, Himmel has garnered attention for her natural charm. Ivan Mbakop portrays Zenzo Tongai, is an American actor, director and application designer. Mbakop first acting was in a commercial for Cox Communications and Coca Cola, he formed part of the movie Baby Mama’s Club 2010 and later in 2017 he debuted as a director with the short Victus. Dax Rey portrays Luke, Rey is a young actor that is known for his role in the series The Good Place 2016, Swan Song 2021 and They Whisper 2023. Paula Malcomson is portraying Ros, Gray’s wife, Malcomson is a Northern Irish actress. She is known for playing Trixie in Deadwood 2004, Maureen Ashby in Sons of Anarchy 2010 and Abby Donovan in Ray Donovan 2013. Skeet Ulrich take the role as Colin. Ulrich is best known for his role of Billy Loomis in the popular franchise Scream, he is also Chris Hooker in the Craft 1996 and Vincent Lopiano in As Good as It Gets 1997.

The story of Parish would the the audience to the life of Gracian “Gray” Parish, a man that has a good life as a retired wheel man that in the present is living in a nice suburban home with his wife and daughter and running a car company but not everything was happiness in Parish life, he was suffering for the dead of his son Maddox who was killed a year ago in a shooting, despite that situation his life seems to be like a average man with a average family. One night Colin, Parish old partner visited him requesting for help, he is in debt to the Tongai Family a group of Zimbabwean gangsters and needs Parish to use his driving skills for a one last time mission, Parish wasn’t happy for that request of his friend but accepted the offer. The series is going to show how Colin and Parish are going to deal with the situation and try to complete the mission, is going to give action scene, a man that believed has no other choice to continue in that job entering with deeply in a wrong path try to find out a way out.

Directorial Vision: Sunu Gonera

Director Sunu Gonera has a story of dreams and determination. Born and living in Zimbawe during the Civil War, Gonera decided to began a journey and follow his dream of becoming a Hollywood director. He and his family sold everything they had in Zimbawe and move to Hollywood but he didn’t work in the filming industry right away, he first studied and has a degree in Organizational Psychology from the University of Cape Town and started pursuing a career in baking before following his dream as a director. Anticipation and Controversy

The series was entirely filmed in the United States, during the filming co-creator and director Sunu Gonera put the production in some challenges due to his departure of the project due to internal investigations, despite that situation the cast and the crew prevailed to continue on the filming and deliver a good series to watch. The series is an adaptation of the TV series The Driver, a British crime drama set in Manchester and aired on BBC One in 2014 and in this occasion Parish wants to show a story of man that helps a friend but that at the end is going to do everything to keep his family safe, trying at the same time to return to his peaceful life. Parish is the series that wants to become the sensation of 2024 giving Parish story and Esposito amazing performance.

Parish is a series that is full of action with a topic that is a reality in the world that is human traffic and simultaneously the reality of a man trying to success and survive and fight against that world. I don’t like what has become of this spin off for the last two episodes and I have my suspects of whats going to happen on the last episode, I just hope they are not that stupid to have Rick and Michonne single handle destroy the CRM on a single episode, I based this assumption on the advance scenes at the end of episode five, it shows Rick and Michonne back at Philadelphia, CRM HQ; looks like they taking the place down.

It looks like there is a second season although feels like they rushing things just too much or may be just me getting the wrong idea, I hope I’m wrong about it; six episode is nothing for a season, some might say its just two episodes shorter than the last two spin off first season but in two episodes the entire perspective of the story can change specially been episodes over 45 minutes that is half an average movie duration. Episode five feels like one of those episodes to kill time and explain part of the back story and that they did with all the kissing and loving for the first part of the episode then something almost similar with Anne aka Jadis, I simply didn’t like this episode neither, its a real buzz killer since the season started so good and then it is just a downtrend in terms of lack of action, cruelty, treason and cruelty, after all that is what sells on TWD not loving and kissing.

As mention in the introduction lots of smiling, kissing and making out between Michonne and Rick, not that I don’t want them to be happy on the story is just that we already had an entire episode of them arguing and kissing, can you just give them a new challenge? something that actually entertain because that’s the truth, I wanted to watch loving and kissing would watch another series.

I do like that this episode same as on other spin off gave us a different type of Zombie, like on Daryl Dixon spin off; walkers have mutated based on their environment surrounding both physical and behavior, this time a rock solid Zombie type shows up, they are still easy to beat if you have the right tools in this case rick has a iron fist so he can crack the outside of the zombie head while Michonne stab it with a iron bar, I would say this Zombies are also heavier so they are slower, that makes me think if they are heavier and rotten how can they stand still? probably this was a fresh one.

Rick and Michonne saved some locals who were fighting this Zombie, they explain how they have change because of the steam vents, not sure how that process works though, there are also some other zombies who are almost like melted because of the heat.

All this loving and kissing got Rick and Michonne weak and slow, they were moving around in a YELLOW pickup truck you can see from far away and throwing Ramen wraps on the road, they also gave the locals food after saving them but that’s normal since its the right thing to do although they did try to steal from them back minutes latter when they could pick up their guns, that didn’t go well for them, when it comes to fight Rick and Michonne set the bar very high even if they have no guns.

At least they didn’t entirely set the episode on fire an brought something interesting that will have some value in the future probably, Jadis was not always Jadis, she was once Anne an artist, she was also part of many other groups or communities in the past, as Anne she was in love with Gabriel, I remember him from the OG series, the guy was not always sane but he was OK. Jadis join the CRM because she was basically broken, she could not stand seen other community go down so this time around she wanted to be in control and power, thats what she gets out of the CRM and some how she was the only one to escape without others noticing at least once a year to meat with Gabriel, this shows she is smarter or at least better than Rick when you have to be cold and calculate things properly without feelings in the way.

That is exactly why she finds Rick and Michonne after their helicopter crash, even after they shoot a rocket to the building Anne/Jadis could not believe that it was so easy to kill Rick and Michonne, she knows them too well and knows they are warriors, survivors over all though to kill so she kept looking, follow the clues, the cans and ramen wrap on the road, the yellow truck missing on the crash scene, she knew they were alive until she quickly found them and almost got rid of them but she just talk too much, she miss her advantage and got cocky waking them up and giving them a speech before trying to kill them, its two against one, you cant shoot to places at the same time, one of them going to run or jump you and that is exactly what happen.

Jadis pulls the trigger and Michonne jump her, fuck her up badly on he rips area, Jadis enter desperate mode, loosing lot of blood, this is the type of entertaining I’m looking for not two episodes full of arguing and kissing.

It was obvious Jadis was going to die unless they come up to an agreement but she was just too cocky and proud, she wanted them dead, specially Rick so in disadvantage and hurt still tries to front Rick and pull a gun on him after she ask for temporary truce.

During this hole argument and Mexican stand up, there was the argument to go back to the CRM and change it, this idea came from the least one I though would say it, I even though she was trying to distract Jadis but Michonne meant it, she wants to go back with Rick so he can keep moving into the ranks until they have enough access to weapons and information, they could build a plan and kill say most of the high ranks on the CRM.

I really don’t know whats going to happen next, the idea of going back coming from Michonne got me out of balance, never saw that one coming and at first you can tell neither Rick but seems that’s the plan, Jadis is not on their way anymore and she told them where is their file. I suppose they go back, Rick goes up in the ranks and Michonne moves from citizen too although lets not forget that Pearl mindset has change after her promotion, she is now all in CRM and even if they manage to kill Major Beale they still have to deal with Pearl, she is a bad ass too that can bring on the fight, Rick probably is underestimating her or might think that she will join them, I hope not because then it would be just too easy for Rick and Michonne bring down the CRM.

Everything start when Douglas is arrested by the police and is questioned by police psychologist Evelyn, Douglas decided to tell her his story. Months later Mike took out Douglas from the dog kennel but not to give him a better life, he just shoots Douglas with a shotgun paralyzing him from the waist down. The story moves forward and now Douglas tell his story when he live the the children home, there he met Salma a young actress and drama structure who presents Shakespeare to Douglas, she taught him how performance and disguise can help him overcome all the abuse suffered as a child, he was happy with her presence but suddenly she just dissapear never come back to the children home and he felt lonely again. Time passed and he grow up becoming in a person with two life during the nights he was a drag queen who performance the French chanteuse Edith Piaf to lip sync her song La Foule but his other life was as a “Dogman” a person who loves dogs, has plenty of them and teach them to steal from the reach, sounds like modern Robin Hood but he is not, Douglas is a bad person that is trying to do whatever it takes to have a better life because the only that he lives as child was horrible. Let see how the life of Douglas and his dogs end.

The premise of this story is unique but not something new, a person that has suffered so much since he was a child for all the abuse received from his father just because he love dogs, that child growing also create an unbreakable bond with those canines that as an adult has become their family, making them the shield that protect Douglas and the feet that steal everything he wants. A movie directed by the famous director Lec Besson that premier on April 05th, 2024.

He told he all the pain that he lived when he was a kid with his abusive father and the lonely he felt when he stayed in a children home and start carrying for someone again that turn one the flame of life in him but suddenly that person also leave without saying goodbye. This movie is the exploration of traumas that a cruel childhood can leave in a person and take him/her to create in their adulthood an environment that let them feel love and secure, sometimes making that person live in an uncertain life. The director Luc Besson wanted to bring inspiration from real life events creating a story that stays in audience mind. It is a complex story with a survivor as a main character doing things that are wrong but showing an extremely love for dogs, the only ones from whom he received true love.

Behind the Scenes of DogMan

The movie Dogman was film in Newark, New Jersey and in the virtual production studio in Essone, France. The production or filming has no problems but must of the attention was on the director Lec Besson for his controversies and previous accusations that until today has had no repercussion in the filmmaker. Also is impressive the amount of dogs that were used in the filming of the movie making more realistic the scene and also complicated. Dogman is a movie that will bring to the big screen director Lec Besson with a hard story and great performances.

Despite all the accusation that director Lec Besson has face during the past years is incredible to see a movie directed by him again, Besson is a director that has memorable movies such as The Fifth Element and Leon: The Professional, two movies that has gained him acclaimed and also has positioned him one of the greatest French filmmaker, for that reason now with Dogman, the director is giving action, traumas, love for dogs, a story that audience is going to love for the dogs and the plot or is going to hate probably because will make no sense for them, no matter what it seems that the story is cruel with action scenes and with dogs running all over the city just to satisfy his master. Hope it is a good story and that audience can enjoy the performances, the direction and obviously the dogs.

Its only episode one and a lot of things going on although not much since everything surrounds a single mystery, ever since I saw the trailer this TV series got my attention since it has to be related with some sort of alien tech although I was not sure if its also time travel related or both??

I feel the story is a little bit crowded to start with a lot of characters, there is the main character so far Ye whose daughter killed herself after probably watching a count down same as other scientist who have been going through the same trauma but in the case of Ye she is a survivor from a revolution in China during the 60’s, a revolution mainly about science, I’m still not clear what were their demands but their leaders were after something big, trying to communicate with something out there, do they mean space? or future?

A group of friends, all scientist suffer the death of her teacher Vera, most of their projects are been shut down due to lack of results a common denominator across many Particle Colliders around the world and now one of the them is starting to see the count down everywhere she goes, the question is how, when and why would it stop or what it means?? certain only sci-fi events happen like the universe wink at you, like the starts start to Morse code all at once.

Revolution during the 60’s going on in China, looks like a witch hunt, they hunting scientist but I’m not sure if its because they teaching or believe in certain not proven or wrong theories? Ye Wenjie father is on stage accuse, he refuse to accept there is space for God in any of the theories he teach so is this revolution about God? come one people make up your mind.

It seems that this was the young ones only, the puppets, Ye after loosing her father got recruited by higher ranks because they needed scientist like her with lot of talent to help with their communications experiments, makes me think then why kill her father? well probably he was at the wrong place at wrong time, a bit confusing this part of the story and this is not good for viewers.

Benedict Wong from Avengers show up this time as an investigator, his name Da Shi; working on a case where different scientist kill themself for unknown reasons, this last one had high possibilities of getting the novel prize on physics, Vera experiment also discover something they could not explain so is there something or someone killing all this scientist on purpose before they get to close to a big discovery?? this is the part that starts to get interesting, there is a connection between all this dead scientist.

Continue with introducing characters, Saul was working with Vera on her experiment and its the last day the Collider will remain functional after they were shut down because their experiment was going no where, Saul is very irrelevant at this point but he still alive that’s what matters because what if this is a type of The Ring effect where everyone one of them start to see the count down at some point? Different than others Vera look very calm and cool before she kill herself jumping into a pool of some sort of fluid, probably deadly, her last question to Saul was about God.

Next in the group of friends, Jin and Auggie; at a bar having a drink were notified by Saul about Vera’s death, they were discussing the anomalies on Vera’s experiment and how physics and science over all have got to a dead end but I think they were talking about physics mostly, there are other parts of science probably making discoveries and working on things, it was at this moment that Auggie start to see the count down, it started as a Matrix glitch effect until numbers came up in front of her eyes making what ever was behind them look blurry.

After Vera’s funeral all five friends gather to have a drink and talk about how weird all this was. John Bradley play the role of Jack Rooney but he is not a scientist, I like he is not playing a nerdy shy role as he usually does, this time a kind of ass hole all about money guy, as usual he is very funny. Auggie has been feeling off after constantly watching this count down even visit a Neurologist to figure out whats wrong with her, only Jin knows at the moment, that night she step out of the bar for a smoke and a young women offers to light up her cigarette with a very devilish smile on her, she tells Auggie she knows about the countdown and the only way to stop it is if she shuts down her lab, Auggie has a nano tech lab; its like some one is trying to stop different experiments going on that could probably lead to new tech? or the end of the world? again this is the part, the idea, that is interesting.

Jin visits Vera’s mother, Ye; after a few days to help her and get some clues of why Vera would kill herself and Ye mention everything look normal with her, nothing strange, nothing out of the ordinary except a video game that Vera would play none stop, thats when Ye gave Jin the headset, looks like a piece of metal no lenses or headphones. I wonder why Ye been a scientist too didn’t put it on after Vera die, trying to figure out the death of her daughter?

It seems critics and audience are in sync about this series, solid 7/10 on IMDB and RTT, I agree on this after watching the first episode I would say solid 7.5 for me, the mystery about why this scientist can see this countdown and why the women who talk to Auggie ask her to shut down her lab only tells me that either she will make a big discovery or could turn out very bad for humans, Aliens in movies usually want to help humans from eradicating themself although its not clear who is making this scientist watch this count down. The headset I want to see more of that and find out if it is really a game or a simulation of whats going to happen, the story about the China revolution not so interesting to me unless this series is about time travel and they have discover a way to send messages through time, lots of questions, I’ll definitely continue to watch this series but on the traditional one episode a week since I don’t like watching them all at once Netflix release style.

The movie follow Ollie Cross in his new life as a paramedic, he decided to do this job because is going to help him in paying his studies, he want to be a doctor and to gained experience. Cross is presenting with Gene Rutkovsky that man that is going to be his partner in the night shift, Rutkovsky better know as Rut is a veteran paramedic that has seen everything and nothing can surprise him anymore for that reason Rut decided to say to Cross “Beware of black flies, they the first to smell death”, Cross didn’t quite understand what was Rut trying to say to him but life is going to show him that lesson. The first call of the night was received and the team of paramedics prepared to attend the call, a moments late they arrived in a abandoned apartment where unfortunately they couldn’t do much because the person was already dead, they then start the process of removed the movie and take it to the morgue in the ambulance Rut asked to Cross if that was the first time that he ever watched someone he knew actually die and Cross replies yes, his own mother that committed suicide when he was a child. The story will continue showing the colleagues in his job every night trying to do the best they can in situation such as the abused and beaten wives, the drug addicted, the ignored immigrants and the though gang members that sometimes make they job more difficult. Cross is living all this during the night but during the day he is struggle to commit with his studies and the exams that he has to present. Every night for Cross is apparently a challenge but Rut is there to guide the newbie in hardly job, something things can escalated and touch deeply in Cross like a badly beaten wife that is still threatened by her husband even thought the paramedics try to take her to the hospital or an scene were apparently a pregnant heroin user gave birth but the baby born dead, this case of scenarios continue every night making Cross realized the New York is not what is seems in the surface in the darker halls exist a different world, a world full of cruelty, suffering, people trying to survive and two paramedics trying to save the most people the can. Also the movie will show a little of the personal life of each character Cross with his girlfriend and Rut struggling with the decision of his ex wife of moving to another city with his daughter.

Asphalt City is an intense movie that is going to show scenarios one after another of chaos, lost, pain and cruelty of society, director Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire want to show a different perspective of a big city that is glorify for many but is a hell for others and a perspective from a paramedic that work in the night shift is the way that he decided to show the audience that New York is not perfect and that reality could be cruel. Asphalt City premiered on March 29th in theaters.

Critics: Too much exaggerated

The movie Asphalt City was premiered in the Cannes Film Festival in 2023 with the name of Black Flies for the adaptation of Shannon Burke’s 2008 novel Black Flies. Critics have acclaimed the performance of Sean Penn and Tye Sheridan, giving emotion and reality to their characters but critics has also dislike for the cruelty and the exaggeration of the job that a real paramedic has to do mention that in the movie they seems to be more like two cops in every crime scene, despite all that the director vision is accepted and the movie is side of a city that also needs to be known.

Director’s Vision: Reality at the big screen

Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire is a French filmmaker, producer and screenwriter that is best known for the films Johnny Mad Dog 2008, A Prayer Before Dawn 2017 and now Asphalt City 2024. The career of the director started in 1991 as a first assistant director of the film Les Nuits Fauves By Cyril Collard and continue doing that job until 2000, after gained experience he decided to give a step on his directorial career and directed three short films La Mule, A Dios and Matalo later in 2008 he made the movie Johnny Mad Dog which one that was presented in the Cannes Film Festival winning the Prix de L’Espoir. Sauvaire is a director that is not afraid to show the dark side of society and dig into the characters psyche until they reveal their deepest fears and desires.

The cast of Asphalt city is lead by Sean Penn as Gene Rutkovsky, Penn is an American actor and director, as an actor he won an Academy Award for his roles in the movie Mystic River 2003 and in Milk 2008, Penn has a long filmography that reflect his expertise and great work. Tye Sheridan plays Ollie Cross, Sheridan is an American actor that made his debut in the film The Tree of Life 2001, in 2016 he take the role of Scotter Summer known as Cyclope in X-Mex Apocalypse and In Ready Player One of 2018 he performed Wade Owen. Gbenga Akinnagbe is an American actor and writer, Akinnagbe is known for his role in the series The Wire of 2002 as Chris Partlow and in the series The Deuce of 2017 as Larry Brown. Katherine Waterston as Nancy, Waterson is an British actress that made her debut in the movie Michael Clayton 2007 but she is known for her performance in the movie Inherent Vice 2014, she also portrayed Chrisann Brennan in the movie Steve Jobs 2015 and take the role of Tina Goldstein in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2016. Mike Tyson is in the role of Chief Burroughs, Tyson is a former boxer that make his appearance in this movie.

Production Challenges

The movie Asphalt City at the beginning was titled with the name Black Flies that was because it is an adaptation of Shannon Burke’s Novel with the same name Black Flies, due to it is an adaptation director was more careful in the process of scripting and directing to capture the essence of the original story, despite that the filming process was pleasant with a cast that gave everything to deliver great performances. Asphalt City is a movie that is going to give to the audience many emotions thanks to the great performances and the view of director Jean Stéphane Sauvaire about a dark New York City.

Based on Shannon Burke’s 2008 novel Black Flies, Asphalt City wants to reflect in this movie the vision of a director who has live for many years in the great city of New York, with the story of two paramedics, one as the rookie and the second a veteran that nothing impress him anymore, is a plot of a dark city full of crime, drugs, abuse, gangs members that is reflecting a different and also a real perspective of a city that is glorify by many but as is also a hell for others, at the same is the place were the devil walk between everyone and we don’t if this destiny but Ollie Cross is the person chose in this life that is going to feel all the pain and frustration of every call he received and must attend all this to confirm if he is strong enough to pass through all those challenges and can pass with success all the test that life is going to force him to face.

I believe Tokyo Vice is a very underrated series and not because it has a low rating, reason why is because not many people knows about it or talks about but, at times it can be a bit slow as any other police / journalist tv series who are after the bad guys but then it picks up very quickly.

On season one for me it was always Jake, Samantha and Sato the main characters but on season two things have change a bit but always with Jake in the middle of the storm, Samantha has turn into a disposable character with her moments but not as focus as in first season, Sato has probably remain at the top three but now Tozawa and Katagari next to Jake all the time.

Episode eight was every exiting to watch with a lot of retaliation specially at Chihara-Kai ever since Hayama took over after their Oyabun death, the monster that Tozawa has turn in after he came back is expanding rapidly starting to control not only the streets but high power inside the government and probably the US embassy.
