It is the first episode that you can point out as a “slow” episode but what is slow for this mini series? I don’t think it was compared to how other series slow down to then ramp up to full rush of dopamine, how long will it be until we have this great battle so it is understandable that on episode 7 things pause for a bit.

Toronaga and what is left of his army go to his younger brother Saeki for help, usually this kind of reunion after so long time no seen don’t go to well for the one asking for help, at first everything look smooth but it was very predictable, I think this also depends on how much time you spend watching TV Series, for me well you can tell this is something I do on a daily bases so thinking about the possible outcomes before they happen is a common almost automatic thing while watching the series and it was not boring because of how much interesting is the entire Samurai theme for me but I guess if this series was about something else this could have turn into a boring episode.

Take this scene for example, Toronaga just won his first battle at the age of twelve years old, 46 years ago; meaning his age at the time of the series is about 58 years. He has won his first battle and was about to behead his contrary, they didn’t show this scene when he cuts his head off but I truly doubt this was a single clean cut because of how difficult it must be, the talent and the strength need is impressive and a kid of 12 most likely wont have those two, I also assume this story would be brought to light by his brother, not directly him but when I saw it I was like…hhmmm this will be mention latter on.

Saeki look very happy to have his brother asking for his help, like if he finally felt he was useful to his brother, the reason I though this could be possible “Honor & Pride” as a younger brother you always look up to your older brother but I also though he could just be a sneaky bastard laying a trap for Toronaga an everyone next to him.

John keeps going up in the ranks and this gives him more reasons to question Toronaga, he feels everything he has been giving means nothing just to keep him “happy” another pawn in the Toronaga strategy so either he is truly in and respected as a free men or he is allow to get out of Japan with his ship. This last part is very important because I have a feeling that he will once again save Toronaga ass, on this scene he says tells Toronaga he is down with him to whatever happens, trying to tell him he will go to the end of this war with him to prove his loyalty. Mariko is also no treating him anymore like a kid who doesn’t know their culture or indirectly make fun of him, this means she sees him more like a man who she might start to respect soon, only three more episodes to go.

From all the women on the series my favorite character is Usami Fuji, I don’t know Japanese culture so sometimes I write about her calling her Usami but then her grandfather called her Fuji when he arrive? …anyways Fuji is my favorite, always so cute, polite, loyal, her grandfather Hiromatsu, tell her how clean and tight is her place that house does look like a Japanese dream house everything so neat, its like been on a five star hotel with the entire Japanese house on the mountain side.

Sadly Fuji still wants to die, Hiromatsu brought her the ashes of her husband and son after he had to commit Seppuku killing himself and his only son, this broke Fuji heart but she was order to live and be John consort, she agree to do this for six month and then she would kill herself as there is nothing that matters for her its hard to imagine anyone can live under this condition and still laugh and look like she does.

The night has come and as I expected Saeki had everything planned, he already had an offer from Ishido to become a Regent and form part of the Council so he never had the intention to join forces with his brother, now he has them trapped, the entire town is surrounded with no where to escape, my description might be too simple but in fact that is how it is, that night they had some Sake and tell a few stories but everything went south when Saeki disrespect Toronaga in front of everyone, that was the catalyst to understand he have betrayed his brother.

Even Yabushige plans have fall down, he was a pawn for both sides, useful until he was not anymore, both Ishido and Toronaga knew he was playing the double agent game. Behind Toronaga’s back he send a messenger to try to make peace between both sides or at least cut a deal that favor him but this messenger was beheaded and send on a box back to Yabushige. He thinks that every since he met John his life turn to shit, he has been three times already close to die since they met, at Osaka, at Izu when he fall down the cliff, during the earthquake and now they about to be killed, its kinda true because if Toronaga have never use John at Osaka he would probably be dead by now and Yabushige at that time had a better understanding with Ishido, so yeah John had to do with Yabushige current situation.

This is probably the best mini series I have ever seen and one of the best series over all, been this episode a slow one it was still good, if I have to rate it this is a solid 8/10, as always I skipped the part with all the action to avoid spoil it that much but if you haven’t seen the episode just by reading this post you can imagine what comes next. I seriously doubt Toronaga and John were so easy to catch, they surely have something planned or this is the time John stops following orders and save Toronaga ass once more, if he could get back to his ship he could do some serious damage from far, next episode is going to be awesome because we are back at square one, Toronaga is trapped with no where to go so he has to find some sort of procedure impediment for Saeki to take him to Osaka or someone has to safe him.

Shogun (2024): Tomorrow Is Tomorrow - Episode 3 - RECAP - INTRODUCTIONJohn Blackthorne is moving fast in the ranks but not because of his own means so far but because he as become the perfect obstacle for the Council in favor of Toronaga, Yoshii has use him as a pawn on this, so far; silent war he has against the other four most powerful men in Japan.

What intrigue me the most is how far will Yabushige will remain alive playing the double agent game, for the most part he makes everyone believe he is on Toronaga’s side but behind close doors he constantly talks to Ishido even advice him how to move against Toronaga and tries to make him use John as a pawn on this side too but the truth is that Yabushige intercept John when Ishido send for him, then Yabushige deliever John to Toronaga, this looks like Yabushige is with Toronaga but trying to hustle Ishido, looking for any land or power he can get from him for his personal use, I doubt Yabushige will be able to betray Toronaga before he finds out or kill him.

This scene is a very funny one, aside from the mind games there is certain comedy happening specially between Mariko and John, he has no other option since she is his interpreter although he is trying to learn Japanese, he is short on options so they have become some what close and Mariko makes fun of him every time she can regarding how he is a barbarian since he knows nothing about their traditions, in this case the Dr. taking care of his wound suggest they get him a women to calm him down where Mariko translate for him and latter ask if he prefers a male companion.

I’m following the series episode by episode every week, let me tell you that Chiyo is going to become a very important part of John life, after her husband and baby where killed because her husband insulted Ishido she is now going to serve Toronaga to gain a place on his clan, there is suppose to be a romance relationship between John and a women but I’m not sure yet if its Mariko or Chiyo, both went through the same circumstances, both serving Toronaga to remain on his clan and gain a seat, but I’m still not sure if any of the two will fall in love with John.

Japanese honor is something very beautiful that in the case of John he knows nothing about, but he does take certain risks specially lie about certain things, in this case he saves Toronaga by making a full of himself trying to stop Ishido’s soldier to look into the case where women where transport, saying how disrespectful is to peek at a women’s quarters, if he didnt do this Toronaga was going to be discover for sure but NONE of the Toronaga clan was going to make a fool of themself like John did because of honor, they just do not behave that way no matter what, in that case they probably prefer Toronaga getting discovered and fight for their lives.

Once again Toronaga playing mind tricks at the rest of the council, before Taiko died the orders were simple and explicit, there MUST be five Regents to vote if not they cant but now Toronaga quits the Council leaving only four regents, this moves are starting to make Ishido loose his patience, I think its silly that they cant vote if Toronaga quits, first he can’t quit and second if he does then he can be by default declare an enemy of the council.

Shogun (2024): Tomorrow Is Tomorrow - Episode 3 - RECAP - Conclusion

This series is just getting better and better, we only on episode four as this week, I’m loving all the mind games Toronaga is playing on everyone not only on the council members but also on Yabushige, it seems that been a hostage as little gave him every advantage he needed to develop this mind state, I think we now get into the stage where John starts to go up in the ranks, learn their culture, their language, handle a sword, this is very familiar….last samurai type of thing, but still interesting to me, I’m sure most people are enjoying this tv series a lot.

Shogun (2024) is turning into one of the best TV series I have seen ever, I think many viewers agree been that its online score remains so high after every episode, every scene is interconnected even though there are many characters on this story every single one of them have to do with the other in the middle of this war that is starting to shape up, consider there was already a war going on specially against Yoshii Toronaga but this war is expanding potentially putting part of Japan against Portugal leading this front will be Toronaga, things about to get very very spicy but first he needs to find a way out of Osaka, he already accomplish to delay and cause some division amount the rest of the council but there still a lot more to be done so he can go back home, most likely taking Anajin John with him.

First thing I would like to mention from this episode is the Taiko’s Samurai Armor, the thing is so beautiful, all shiny, glowing with yellow and orange details even has a mustache probably representing his age and wisdom.

Taiko is ill and dying, everyone knows this, he first offer Yoshii to be the regent leader but he knew this would be the perfect excuse for this enemies to gather up and kill him for the power and taking over the throne, Taiko Toyotomi Hideyoshi knew Toronaga was smarter than that so he had already papers done where the council will be the five most powerful men of Japan including Toronaga and all decisions have to be taken under one common agreement.

Source
The Portuguese first intention was to get John killed for piracy but based on his journal he knows more than they though, even some of the Portuguese secrets that it was on their best interest to keep hidden from the rest of Japan, without direct intentions Toronaga will discover this, an event that will change everything and divide the Catholic Church and Japan including the Regent Council turning this entire story into a free for all match.

Source

Teasing and incentivizing the split of the other four members of the council, Toronaga schedule an audience with John, he had no interest on him but what he can represent, within the council there are Catholic members who would consider John’s presence disrespectful and would be eager to finish him as soon as possible before moving forward with any other business and Toronaga knew this, he is a very smart man part of this because as a kid he was offered as a hostage what is consider a high honor and learn from other enemies.

Source

Toronaga’s audience with John had a Portuguese father Martin Alvito and Toda Mariko as interpreters, Toronaga didn’t fully trust the Catholics so he had one of his clan who knew Portuguese to be present. Audience was interrupt by Ishido Kazunari who consider it absurd and disrespectful falling into Toronaga’s trap, Ishido’s presence there add certain importance to the audience forcing others to pay attention, meaning the other members of the council so it work out perfectly, John was detain and by now Toronaga had what he wanted from him, he didn’t mean anything to hiim anymore.

Source

Mariko was the first one to understand Toronaga’s plan before everyone else but there was no certainty that it would work, not even Toronaga knew this for a fact but been there are their mercy it was his only chance and hope for at least delaying things and buy him some more time before the council dictate measures against him with the most possible outcome of death for him and his entire clan.

Source

The next morning everything work out just perfectly, when Ishido and the three other members of the council meet to take actions against Toronaga there were higher matter to touch besides Toronaga but not for Ishido who demand from the other members to vote on Toronaga and then they can move into other business but religion and honor are first, Toronaga is political, this situation has created a delay on Toronaga’s future but he is not out of danger, once John is executed then Toronaga would be next.

Source

Ishido makes a move incentivize by his anger against the members of the council who decided to pause Toronaga execution also after Yabushige planted distrust on Ishido against them, only working on this own benefit Yabushige suggested John could be a powerful ally in case the other members of the council decided to go against him. Ishido decided to take John under his protection, probably fake his death but never realize Yabushige was working for Toronaga at the same time although he knew about it but was probably not 100% certain, Yabushige rescue John and brings him back to Toronaga and its here with Mariko as interpreter that John finally told Toronaga about the Portuguese gun running bases protected by Ronin and the fact that Portugal only wanted to make them think they were independent.

I see a big great fight shaping up between armies where Portuguese will be involve too and makes me think if ships will soldiers will arrive or if this is just going to be a Civil War while Portuguese run away or stay out of the conflict, what John reveal was a big deal for everyone in Japan either if they are allies or not unless they are sell outs, honor goes above anything on this story just as an example they guy who interrupted the council audience insinuating Ishido insulted Toronaga, he had to offer his life and his only born son to get his honor back, this kind of attitude its insane and to some point barbaric, I get been this strict is probably the only way why everything is so perfect but still how you going to kill a baby just because his father made a scene?? tf.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters - Aftermath - Season 01 - Episode 01 -RECAP INTRODUCTION - www.skiptvads.blog

Monarch Legacy of Monsters is turning to be a great TV series with three episodes already in, the series doesn’t look full of promises without putting up a show, I have try to cover the movies that connect to the series and also put up a post about the trailer and something that I mention that is key for me when watching any type of content that goes around a certain monster is the monster itself, in the past movies tend to just show parts of the monster and small scenes of it compare to the rest of the story and I was afraid this might be the case but its not, on the first episode we see one fight and two attacks from all different type and size of monsters, along with this a side story of a disappear man who have two families without each other knowing, this man has a secret life that none of his two families know of but it was necessary to keep them protected.

The series is not perfect, there are a few characters that I don’t like too much but I have come to the conclusion that some times that’s how it is suppose to be, when an actor makes you feel certain way because of his/her character and not because of their acting itself then this means its working and in this case it’s Kate and Kentaro, both daughter and son of the disappeared Hiroshi Randa who has been studying all this monsters, this too kids some times get my nerves, both annoying and always arguing like teenagers.

Monarch so far does a great job a resembling to the predecessor movies Skull Island, Godzilla (2014) and we still haven’t seen much related to King of the Monsters and that’s fine because I think when the series get to that point its show time, full blown Goji ready to destroy.

Episode one opens up strong with Bill Randa at Skull Island, this was either a part of the original movie that was not shown or a second tour to the island, he is recording himself, asking someone to forgive him but I’m not sure who is he referring too although it will be useful for the future in the series. Bill is running away from a giant spider that was seen on the Skull Island movie but this time it is trying to eat him probably or at least kill him and when he is at a dead end on a cliff throws a bag with his recordings to the ocean, right after that another monster shows up, giant Crab stands up from the ground to fight the spider and Bill gets away, I think this was a perfect opening scene, you got a monster fight, one monster that was never seen and brings a characters from the monster verse movies.

As any other first episode its time to present all different main characters and provide context, meaning to their stories, on the image above Kate, a women who her father “died” or disappear, at this point she and her mom are not sure what happen, looking for answers she goes to Tokyo after finding a set of keys to an apartment and probably documentation that tells her about her father apartment in Tokyo.

OG Godzilla story starts in Japan so what a great detail to the series without trying to make it so American, the story at first feels like there is a lot going on and you just got drop in the middle, trying to figure out who is who and what is what but its not complicated, Godzilla at this point in time has appear a few times and already attack San Francisco in the US, that’s reference to Godzilla (2014), Japan is now heavily loaded with weapons against a possible attack, would be ridiculous seen that many missile turrets around the city.

This is where the episodes gets intense, Keiko was very talented and brave, she volunteer to go down where all this glowing eggs are to take genetic samples, Lee seem to be in charge of their security that Keiko and Bill doesn’t seem to care that much , their passion for the science blinds their judgement exposing them to high risk specially Keiko. Lee and Keiko go down but the place seem to be very unstable and after just a few minutes of walking the surface where the eggs are the place start to crumble and go down, I have a theory that what ever monster that lay down the eggs felt them and was coming making the place shake, monsters that look like insects, look like cockroach, start to run towards Lee and Keiko, that’s how we get to the cover image were Keiko is trying to climb back but the insects got to her, Bill was pulling her up but could not hold the rope, there was too much weight after the insects got her and she falls down.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters - Aftermath - Season 01 - Episode 01 -RECAP CONCLUSION - www.skiptvads.blog

Working with two time lines gives the series the ability to recreate multiple scenes that sparks that rush of dopamine and then slow things down again, in the case of episode one you have attack at Skull Island with Bill running for his life, the Godzilla attack in San Francisco and at the end the scene where all this insects end up killing Keiko, well I assume she is dead. My point is that its not a boring constant story trying to only figure things out as they go, allowing the series to always have two or three action scenes per episode, at least that’s my expectation.

So far as I mention above the monsters scenes have been as expected, nothing ridiculous, they are not going to give you a big Godzilla fight on the first episodes, probably we get one or even two big fights on season one but so far so good in that department, the story behind the disappearance of Hiroshi seems very interesting also making sense with the movies that back it up, I give episode one a 8/10 because it was very entertaining and had bits of all the movies and the story behind them but this series is not GOT or The Rings of Power so giving it a 10 is very hard for me, Monarch is delivering everything I expected from it and I’m glad not everything was shown on the trailer.

Drops of God: Food and Wine – Season 1 – Episode 7 – Recap INTRODUCTION - www.skiptvads.blog

Drops of God, Episode 7 took by surprise everyone including Issei and Camille with a contest that they never thought may happen, they at first knew this was a contest with serveral test but never imagine one of them would be in front of a crowd and judges, this episode also explains how Luca turn out to be worst than Issei and Camille mothers, this story is way more complicated than it seems on the series, from what I have seen so far I think there wont be another season, but who knows, I have said this before taking in consideration that the anime is forty four volumes.

Issei live turn less painful, a guy who had everything in his life, he came from a wealthy family at least from his mother side, financially secure, not the best relationship with his parents but at least had a great one with his father and when the opportunity to be part of a contest to inherit the biggest wine collection in the world came up, his entire life falls down, his parents split up, his father ran away, his grandfather kick him out of the family and finds out his mother lie to him his entire life, his real father is the man who train him, the man who left the biggest wine collection as price for the contest he is now in, for Alexander Ledger inheritance, this story is more complicated for Issei than Camille. On Episode 8 Issei finally confront his mother, told her straight to her face he knows about the affair she had with Alexander and that his real father is Alexander, typical Honoka she throw him out of the apartment with his girlfriend Yurika. At least on episode eight Issei finally finds happiness with Yurika and even with Camille, after everything they had to through from been rivals for their father heritance they become friends, ironically on the same property his mother and her father met.

On episode seven was explain why Luca didnt want Camille next to him, she turn him down to continue with the Ledger Guide, a famous Wine Guide her father create when he start his business in Japan, it grew to the point of been the Bible of Wine, if your property and wine was hoisted on the Guide, the property and the wine went up in value, at first Camille use the Ledger Guide as a tool to get wine makers let her taste their wine on her trip to Itally but then understood how dangerous it was for the entire Wine Market, on episode eight Luca took off the mask and went directly against Camille, told her to her face he will do anything in his power to make her loose, during one of the contest other judges notice this as he tries to elevate Issei decisions, even Issei had a weird face expression when Luca talk about this wine selection with food he knew Luca was overacting and exaggerating things but didn’t know his motive.

Yurika, Issei new girlfriend started as a journalist who at first didn’t like him at all, she found him a spoil rich guy who was looking to get attention, but once he open up to her she understood on the inside he was constantly having troubles at home and when his father left he took the chance to be honest with her, she was the only person he open up with and told her everything wrong in his life, she took it very serious and decided to give her a chance to know him better, finding he is a noble person and probably miss guided because of how most of his family is, referring to his mother and grandfather, every time he is next to her she makes him happy, Yurika was the only person that was next to him during all this bad times, when his father went away and all the stress he went through during the contest for Alexander Ledger inheritance.

Issei mother, Honoka; single handed destroy his family, she lie to his grand father when she got pregnant during her affair with Alexander then getting married with Hirokazu a man that love her probably more than she deserve to then treat him like shit during many years, he probably stay with her for two reasons that was family honor and Issei, to the list we can add that latter on Hirozaku got tired of the way she treat him so decided to go away and she blame Issei for that, now Issei is obviously mad as fuck at her and confront her, as any other mother she throw him out of the apartment because she own it, ending up all alone, no husband, no son, no father.

This time Issei and Camille have to battle out in front of a crowd and three judges, they had a press conference, went through a knowledge test about wine and the combine wine with food they were given to taste, giving their opinion on their choices, they both had NO idea this was happening neither why, why it had to be so public, I think this entire event was probably modified by Luca, Alexander lawyer told Issie and Camille “I had nothing to do with organization of the event…. “, during the event Luca takes the stage and publicly mention how the winner will be the true succesor of Alexander Ledger, the winner will continue with the Ledger Guide, after all that’s all he cares about, that’s Luca’s business, even threw a cheap shot at Camille that other judges next to him caught, he said he would make sure Camille never win but he couldn’t.

At some point in the story both Camille and Issei hated the contest, both were going to quit in different occasion, at first for Issei it was just a contest but with time when he find out Alexander was his real father I think he started to felt the same way as Camille, it felt it was evil to had his two children competing for his inheritance, the worst part is the irony of where the events happen, one of the last test happen in Phillipe wine yard, where Alexander train Camille every summer and where Honoka, Issei mother; fall in love with Alexander during a trip she did with Hirozaku, its like all of them met long time ago without knowing they will be competing for the biggest wine collection in the world, even Phillipe complain when he was ask to host the last test

Even dead, he’s still a pain in the ass.

Said Phillipe who probably knew or had his doubts about Issei and Camille been brothers, Phillipe had a client name Tomine a long time ago, it was Honoka, she use to buy a lot of wine from him, on the very first purchase she bought boxes to bring back to Japan so most likely she kept buying from Phillipe all the time she was with Alexander.

Now that they started to get along, Issei comes clean with Camille and told him he got lucky on the previous contest, he cant understand how she find out about Casa de Fossati, how she figure out it was the one because he taste the wine and there were no jasmine or any other fruit or flower mention on the painting, he also told her he got lucky because he had Alexander notes from thirty years ago when he was Honoka and Hirokazu teacher and in one of his lectures the painting was mention and next to it was the name of the wine so he gave it a shot without knowing if it was the one. Camille explains Issei she just have an ability to imagine or even listen how things taste, she correlate them with other things in her life to exactly remember what is what how things smell and taste, apparently it runs on the blood because after that Issei gave it a try, at first nothing happen but then it kick in when he imagine a strawberry on the desk after he taste the wine in front of him, was the perfect moment for the Wonder Woman sound, this is another series I really enjoy and Im hoping there is a second season, from the little I have read online the manga had a lot of content to keep the Tv Series going.

Drops of God: Food and Wine – Season 1 – Episode 7 – Recap CONCLUSION - www.skiptvads.blog

I was just talking about this week about how you live long to see your heroes become the villain, that’s exactly what happen on this episode, the man who presented himself as a very simple man and best friend of Camille’s father turn out was just a vampire sucking out money and fame out of the Ledger Guide, the moment he saw his fortune threatened he turns his back to Camille since she decided not to continue, in revenge Lucas now wants her to loose the contest and sweet talk Issei to continue with the guide, problem for him is that Issei now is on Camille Team. I went through a similar situation when my grandfather died, some of my aunts and my grandmother all of the sudden change and start fighting over money and the inheritance, I was still very young but do remember the fighting, the phone calls, money change people in such bad way that it sux, some say that’s the true human face, some say you/I might not understand it because I don’t have that much money, now days I’m in a way more better economic situation and my wealth is starting to grow this past two years well enough but as a kid I remember how bad I felt some times, that’s something I don’t want for my children so this is something I got very clear to avoid having them watch their family fight over money, that’s so terrible for a kid.

Drops of God: The Link – Season 1 Episode 5 – Recap INTRODUCTION - www.skiptvads.blog

Hirozaku is missing and Issei his son just got the news, him and his dad are very close but Issei cant keep asking himself why is he on this competition with Camille, he starts to question what could be the ties between him and Alexander Ledger rather than been just his student and its here when he discover he was more than just a regular student, after his dad disappear and his family officially turning his back on him Issei feels very low, lost stamina, out of strength. The story of Issei is finally getting stronger and starting to take shape, took it five episodes and it feels great because at this point we know a lot about Camille and here role on this series and I knew at some point Issei part of the story will become important, will be given more screen time, this episode is mostly about Issei and his family different than the first four when he was just on the side lines been the great Sommelier he is and stepping over Camille on the contest but not given that much screen time as he got on this episode.

At the moment of writing this episode I already saw episode six and I think for the rest of the season Honoka is going to get trashed badly, on episode four we learn how she and Alexander became lovers and Hirozaku save her reputation at taking Issei as his own son, making everyone think he is the father of a Tomine Diamond, the father of Honoka son when actually Issei is Alexander Ledger son, Camille step brother and the second reason he is on the contest, other than Honoka and Hirozaku no body else knows, at least until now her father Noboru Tomine haven’t show signs he knew so the moment this goes out to light because it will, at some point Issei is going to reveal this secret and bring it to the press, at least for now he just discover the real connection between Alexander and his mother but doesn’t have like real strong proof he is Alexander son, who knows if Honoka even kill herself the moment this news go out, we have seen on most Japaneses stories how some times the characters commit suicide when their honor gets beaten so hard and that’s whats going to happen with her and unfortunately with Hirozaku too because lets not forget that even though he did a great thing at taking care of Issei he also lied to the Tomine family for many many years.

Camille is evolving, now she has been offered to take care of his father book, The Ledger Guide, a wine guide that in the series represent basically the bible of wine, if your vineyard, your wine, and the editor talks well about it, it becomes and automatic success, Luca owns 45% of the Guide, it feels they want to use Camille because of her image, because of her last name but not really because they believe she can do same or better than her father after all Issei is way better than her on the technique and knowledge but she has this rare talent for wine tasting.

Until now Luca has been too good of a friend to Camille as he was to her father Alexander but if we look back is a man who is all about business and money, for example how Thomas offer to buy a $10k bottle of wine and took Camille to the vineyard that was miles away but when ask Luca he said he cant and wont open a $10k bottle just to wonder and ifs, all this time he has offer Camille his help, his nephew and Miyabi but this will change soon when Luca stakes on the Ledger and the contest itself look at risk by Camille actions.

Honoka seriously is so selfish, for her everything is in second place even her son and husband, she calls Issei to inform him that his father ran away and left behind his wallet, keys and personal things without saying he was going, even try to make Issei responsible for it after he mention they had this argument before he ran away but the truth is Hirozaku ran away because he couldn’t take Honoka rudness on how she treat him, they had a date and she never went, it was the drop that spilled the glass. During the argument when Honoka try to put this on Issei he clearly said it back “You are the one who always humiliate him”, it is about time that people around Honoka stops thinking she is this golden women just because she is part of the Tomine Diamond family and it starts with her son and husband, this is just the beginning, soon all the dirty cloth will be out.

Different than Honoka, her father Noboru is a bad ass and said things to your face, this is the moment when Issei is no longer part of the Tomine family, his grand father tells him he now MUST WIN, he has his support as grand father but Issei been on that contest discredit the Tomine family because he is or was the future of his family and didn’t need to compete for a inheritance, he already had one, Issei been on that contest is an insult that his grand father wont take, at least that’s his perspective, I’m not saying its my opinion, competing for Alexander wine collection is a huge price, Issie could do it for that reason and not because of the rest of the money but still that’s his grand father point of view and he is officially out of the family, the press conference was just a PR move from the family since Issei was getting so much attention on the news. Imagine, your father is missing, your own mother doesn’t support you and is a lying bitch and now your grand father kicks you out of the family, with a family like that you needs enemies.

Issei is getting all the love on this episode, he is now getting a lot of screen time and we starting to learn more of him as a person not just what a great Sommelier he is and that his family has money but more about how he is, why he was so arrogant at first, lets face it look at his mother and grand father, Issei for sure inherit that attitude from them. With his father missing and all this troubles with the rest of this family plus the contest pressure he is very down and look for someone who can listen to him, he has to vent out and choose Yurika Katase a journalist who he has been talking to in the past to get the contest covered, when they start talking about his father missing he still have the idea he ran away because of the argument the had but Yurika as a journalist see things different, why disappear now? he must have a secret? this is when Issei took interest on learning how his parents met at the university and whats really their story, he knew they both study together and met Alexander, he goes to the university to get more information about it with the excuse he wants to throw a party for his parents and bring this professor too. He ask her to help him find his father and she agrees with the condition that she gets an exclusive interview, Issei agree and she did help him, at least got a clue where his father went after he took the train.

I was so curious and excited about Issue story on this episode that Luca offering Camille the Ledger Guide was like Meeeh, btw Camille throw herself at Thomas and he reject her one night the got drunk, this was telegraphed from far away. Luca, business, The Ledger Guide, Luca and the publisher lure Camille to continue with the Guide but why putting so much pressure into it? they had her taste a wine her father like very much and Luca said its that easy just your opinion the wine you try but who knows if that’s really what will appear on the Guide after it gets edited, she doesnt look interested.

Issei kept his word and gave Katase the interview she ask for, on that interview he recognize how his grand father support is real and how he can understand one thing is family business and another thing is him supporting him as his grand father, at the end of the interview makes clear he will never take the Tomine Diamond family business no matter the results of the contests for Alexander Ledger inheritance, this was public strike one for Honoka. When Issei went to the university to get info on his parents and Alexander he got the name of Alexander translator, she is now old and very kind and knew the truth about Honoka and Alexander, Issei was talking about his father Hirozaku but for the translator it was a different man, it was Alexander and here when she slip and mention “….giving the class just for her” Issei was like WTF my father Hirozaku was a student, wasn’t he?

Mic drop….. she reveal the true story of how Hirozaku became his father but his biological father is Alexander, now a lot of things make sense for Issei.

Drops of God: The Link – Season 1 Episode 5 – Recap CONCLUSION - www.skiptvads.blog

This episode was a blast from start to finish, it shows now Noburu really likes his grand son but has a family name to defend, Honoka house of cards is about to go down and Issei has no mercy to her, Issei is opening up and starting to realize he cant win this contest alone not with all this problems he is having at his family after all he is wining the contest and has a lot of tools and experience Camille doesn’t but all that stress generated by family problems might tip him over, Camille was basically irrelevant to this episode but the next episodes will be fireworks now that Issei might look at Camille different and become more friendly even try to get closer to her, this tv series is awesome so far 8/10 and how knows it could probably get a 9/10 with upcoming seasons.
