Well it kinda happen exactly as I was expecting and to be honest I did not enjoy this episode that much, when the series started I said and thought that “The Ones Who Live” would probably be the best TWD spin off from the three that we were getting this year but the last episodes disappoint me in one way or another, from the very long and extensive arguing scenes between Michonne and Rick to the now rush take down of the CRM, Rick try for about eight years to escape and he couldn’t but Jadis was doing it for many years, yes she was smarter than Rick and join the CRM instead of fight it but she make it look too easy, same goes now that Michonne is with Rick they manage to take the CRM down in a single episode? there was nothing extraordinary that help them achieve this and now that Jadis is dead she is irrelevant, all she did was blackmail Rick the entire season.
Source
I have not found information that confirms this is a Mini Series the reason I mention this is because it feels like one and not that there will be a second season, after all TWD has a lot going on with three spin off on the same year but I think the big surprise down the line would be that all them collide with each other at some point. If there is a character I would be waiting for is Throne, now that Rick and Michonne took down General Bale I would guess she is the next one in command, Michonne did hurt her badly towards the end but never gave her the final blow.
Thorne was a true believer on Major Beale but she also like Rick specially after she went up in the rank and that’s funny because before that she most of the time was throwing things are him, Rick gets back from the crash site with Michonne with a cover story and Thorne believe him? wtf.
Jadis is dead, why? because she was too cocky, Michonne was right when she said that she have miss the opportunity to take her and Rick down, she should have done it when they were sleeping, instead she prefer to look them in the eye before killing them, this makes reference to Gabriel but Jadis never actually kill him so I got no clue other that she felt cocky because she out smart them and was now in a position of power, we humans are so weak when it comes to holding power, it consumes anyone, that’s what happen to Jadis.
Michonne comes back with Rick to the CRM and her mission was to find the diary that Jadis kept on her room before the CRM swipe it clean once they figure out Jadis was dead, on this diary was her entire story with Rick and Michonne with the latest update of why “Dhana” aka Michonne was at the CRM, this would put Arcadia and her children in danger.
Beale was a total idiot, he ones look at Rick in the eyes and ask him if he can trust him and Okafor knowing what ever Rick answer was probably a lie, a guy who have tried to escape for many years had the golden ticket to stay “dead” for everyone at the CRM but now decides to come back? if this was say a second time thing I would go for it and trust Rick but out of the trailer Beale decides to bring in Rick to the highest level there is for a CRM soldier, makes no sense and shows that Beale was not trying to out smart Rick, he was truly taking a gamble and believe in Rick, yes he offer him to bring in anyone he wanted into the CRM and that could have been the catch but that’s 50/50 I’m not buying it.
Source
At on this episode Michonne was not arguing with Rick for ever, I really like her performance towards the anger she felt during the briefing for the CRM next missions, how they were going to gas out everyone and only rescue 10% of the children, but then there are details like she have been missing for this long and nobody asks for her? Rick is back but Michonne didn’t have to report to anyone? at least Thorne knew Michonne was back at the CRM, Rick told her and now Michonne is wondering around doing what ever she wants freely to take down the CRM? cmon.
Source
The speech scene between Beale and Rick was interesting because he gave out details of the CRM operations, Throne was always talking about how she now understands everything and its clear for her why she belongs to the CRM, Baele detail the CRM plans to Rick regarding how this might be a lost cause so all he is trying to is defeat the odds, but the outcome of this conversation was too predictable, Rick was fixed on killing Baele no matter what happens, I never doubt this now that Michonne was on sync with him, a surprise was if Rick took Baele deal to bring in anyone he love into the CRM, could probably be easy for him but either if it was true or not same as Michonne, Rick could not deal with all the killing.
Source
Same as I have done before I’m trying to avoid describing the action scenes and talk more about the structure of the episode so I don’t ruin or spoil it for others but it was also predictable the fight scene between Rick and Baele, after all he is a man they could not take down from far distance, it had to be a close fight while been alone, this was Rick only chance and Baele was not match for him, actually I though it would be a harder fight for Rick but it was just too easy, another rush scene.
As you can tell from my comments above I’m not so happy with what happen towards the end of the series, I totally understand the goal was to reunite Michonne and Rick once again and escape from the CRM but they could have make it less easy for them, lets just think how they did all this in less than a year and Rick have been trying for almost eight years to escape? the only variant after Michonne got in is that Okafor was not around. If we compare Daryl Dixon series he was on a similar spot, trying to go back home and deal with Genet and her army but it didn’t felt this rush and easy for him to accomplish this besides she is still around while on The Ones Who Live Baele and Thorne are gone, they even play recording of how the remaining of the CRM have take actions to turn things around and not be the dictatorship that Baele was running, I would have to disagree with the internet on this one and only give this spin off a 7.5/10 while on most websites it got 8 and 9.
The show is currently on episode 8 about to finish this Friday 15, I have been keeping up with the episodes but had delays as usual to post recaps, it has been a blast for the most part but as any other mini series there are a few slow episodes. Episode six in my opinion doesn’t fall into the full hype episodes and I think from here one the story is about giving some closure to all the characters, specially Crosby, Buck and Bucky. There is something unusual on this mini series, having some other strong characters like Captain Rosie who are so strong but not given enough screen time, the entire problem is that there is too much to the story that does not fit into one season and its a shame AppleTV didn’t think this way, there is so much potential and they decided to make it a mini series.
Episode six is a drama episode but starts with some action, Buck is alive, landed in Germany after he had to jump ship but he was quickly capture by locals and then detain by the Military, this episode is all about Buck. There are other characters who keep developing the story like Crosby and Rosie, both send to rest and clear their minds out of base.
Source
In times of war must be a constant adrenaline rush to be in the middle of enemy territory, alone with just your pistol and trying to stay hidden from any pair of eyes that come across, you have to assume everyone is the enemy but can’t take defense actions because you will be quickly out number, you might take out a few but once their bodies are discover a lot of heat will be after you, in a very short term this is what happen to Buck, he was found by locals and then detain.
Source
After the last very rough mission some of the personnel were send out to clear their mind, Crosby was send to Oxford for a conference where there would be all kind of members from the Allies Military Forces, he gets letters from his wife and before Bubbles died he was a bit dry when ever talking about her. Rosie and his crew were send out directly to a resting place, not a spa but all kind of activities to relax, as a fact that was the direct order relax, they were the only survivor of their last mission and the scene where all they see were airplane parts falling from the sky must put a lot of weigh on their shoulders, who would want to go up in the sky again after what they saw? but after all they were the only ones who came back so there must be something special about that Rosie and his crew, Co. want them back sharp as fuck but understood they have to calm down and relax after all the carnage they went through.
Source
Allies are starting to bomb Germany, they going deep and cities are starting to fall, Buck and some other pilots that were capture were been transport by train until they got to a point were the city was destroy and the train had to stop, from there they had to walk but the main problem were the people around them at the moment, the city just got bombarded by the Royal Air Force at night, the minute people saw American Pilots they brought down the hammer, attacking them, stab them, German Soldiers allow all this until it was enough mayhem and started to put them down one by one with a bullet to their heads, I guess it was a dramatic cliche scene but when the German Soldier tries to kill Buck, he ran out of bullets.
Source
Buck instead got knock out and though dead, the group of pilots were going to be burred in the outsides of the city but Buck was still alive and try to escape, he was just too weak and now military caught him again, this was the best outcome because he was either going to be burred alive or shot before been 7ft under ground.
Source
There were all kind of spies on both sides during war, we have seen this many times on WWII TV series recently like A Small Light, The New Look, All the Light We Cannot See, spies was a thing, probably not the James Bond type of spies just regular people that were a sell out, Germany had a lot of intel on American pilots and the moment Buck was capture they knew a lot about him, he was brought to interrogation although he as many others refuse to answer any questions other than his name, rank and serial number.
Source
This last four episodes of Masters of The Air I think will mostly touch on other topics than air battle, they will probably be more about the physical and psychological struggles of pilots and soldiers during war, in the case of Crosby and Rosie who have gone through so much and they are still free and alive, others with less fortune like Buck were send out to camps where all American Soldiers capture went to, on this series the camp was mostly full of Air Force members, they also show a scene how civilians were taken to work camps it was brutal to see all that people asking for help, I always see the educational side of this scenes, many jump the gun into conclusions like its propaganda on any of the two sides although all I can think is that no body should be treated this way but we also have to realize during war times this things are going to happen or worst.
Source
Part Six brings a now well known actress Bel Powley, from A Small Light, she now plays the role of Sandra Westgate who ends up to be Crosby roommate at the Oxford conference and they build a bond, I do not applaud cheating on your wife just for been out of the country for that long but we can’t denied that the women is a key component of all adult men, some cant be without one at least for closure for a companion, Crosby has gone through so much and probably after a long time he found something of this on Sandra; their moment ended quickly this time since she was called back to HQ and had to go leaving Crosby hanging.
As you can tell from the cover image Bucky is alive, Buck is capture and during an escape attempt re capture but it was the best it could happen to him after locals try to finish him on the streets and German soldiers participate too, the series is starting to fall mainly into drama of what the Pilots, Soldiers and regular people went through during the war, since Bucky and Buck are back together we will see the rest of the episodes leaning more into their release, escape or death, I have keep up with watching the episodes every week but this are the type of posts that takes me the most to write and haven’t had the proper time, I think I might just speed run the next episodes for the rest of the week so I can finish the episode recaps on Saturday.
It has been a blast so far watching this series, I think most people had a good time specially during the first five episodes when it was full of air battle action, sadly NOW that the allies fighters show up they will have very few minutes of screen, I kept asking to watch a battle with fighters as escorts of the bombers but so far never got it, for the ending of the series I’m open for anything, after all a lot of people were send send to death march where they either die marching on the snow or they got killed by soldiers, sad episodes but again that’s how brutal war is and there is nothing we can do about it just avoid it at all costs because there is no good outcome out of war, never is.
Going Home, Episode Six of Daryl Dixon, Season 1; in my opinion almost fall too simple towards the end too predictable but its expected that they reach their destiny but when Carol show up probably because I have seen her from the OG series it was a rush got to say, as always she looks so calm and now older that you would never expect her to kick your ass but also out smart you but she can. The episodes starts where it left with Daryl facing Zombies in an arena now that Genet got them all including Laurent, her main idea is to show off her power and make others believe Laurent and her are working together to unite people but that’s just not true, she is really looking to establish her regime all over France and Daryl has become a stone on the road after he single handed almost destroy one of her ship with a ton of Zombies they were running experiments on, particularly one who was very strong and agile to be a Zombie, I wonder were this experiments go on season two if she will finally raise a Zombie army and it is already known that Laurent has some sort of influence over Zombies most likely because when his mother was on labor she was already bitten, infected with the virus but it never fully went into Laurent, reason why they kept saying he is a miracle, his mother turns into a Zombie right after labor when she died.
Compare to Dead City, Daryl Dixon was way better probably because it was a bit more rudimentary not sure if that’s the word, Dead City was in Manhattan and Daryl Dixon happens on so many places, the go through France to reach The Nest, from open fields to a rusty Paris with the Eiffel Tower swinging from side to side almost singing, really enjoy this series and now finally make my last post about season one.
The fight scene was a great opening to the last episode of season one, at first Genet thought she was going get away with killing Daryl in front of all this people and show off her power to increase the support from Paris population, how many times have we seen Daryl fight more than three Zombies at the same time although this are not normie Zombies, Genet had her scientist develop some kind of drug that jap the Zombies making them go 0 to 100 real quick, more like Zombies from World War Z, if we can get those in masses for season two would be sick!!!
Probably Genet best chance was to tire Daryl fighting Quinn and then let go the Zombies but she was so sure her plan was going to work, look at her smug smile, well that change real quick after Daryl and Quinn started to work together and annihilate her Zombies, there was one with metal around his head that even attack another Zombie, its still very grey area how to control them properly to know who the enemy is.
So far Daryl Dixon has another thing that is very similar to the OG series and that’s the tones and colors of scenes, its always that dark greenish theme on all scenes, I remember with the OG series at some point the intro made me sad just listening to the song and all the dark green color makes you feel sad about the thing but you still wanted to watch it, obviously Daryl was not going to die on season one there still gas in the tank but who did had to die Quinn, after all he was brought from the death after Isabelle abandon him when Zombies started to pup up, Quinn had to pay a high price.
Karma, Irony and Coincidence kick in hard on episode six, this is when I think the episode started to became too predictable and then what are the odds some of this things to happen to Quinn? probably was the perfect Karma payback
Zombie bites him in the back
He agree to Daryl cut his hand off to get free
Laurent stab him in the head after he turn
Karma is a bitch!! the amount of payback in a single episode, consider he confess Isabelle he was fucking her sister, Laurent’s mother; he also told Isabelle to get rid of her sister and drop her at a near hospital so they can move on to then many years latter when he realize who Laurent is try to claim him as his son and asks Isabelle to be with him, even force her to do it leaving her without many options in exchange for a ticket on a ship or some how get Daryl into a ship to USA, the irony on all this was that Laurent had to kill him and that sux because imagine a kid under that circumstances he basically killed both his parents, his mom during labor and then had to stab Quinn on the head to protect Isabelle, none of those were his fault but still if we go to numbers he is 2-0.
I didn’t like how easy Daryl escape the compound, that’s the magic of TV; the first car he check on he finds his back with all his stuff even his blade and “medieval flail”, I had to look that up lol; on top meters close to him was Fallou to help him get a truck running, he knows mechanic because his uncle had a shop??; it became so predictable and unreal at this point, who didn’t imagine Quinn was going to turn and attack them I think that was obvious.
I always like to think that every TV series and even episodes themself have a gas pedal that writers and directors use to control the excitement, you cant keep people producing dopamine indefinitely during 45 minutes episodes, you might be able to do it on one episode and not at 100%, after Daryl escape with Isebelle and Laurent their truck broke down and Codron track them down, when he had Daryl at his mercy he could not kill Daryl or Laurent for some reason, Laurent did told him “God loves you” but still I don’t think that mean anything to Codron, he kills the rest of Genet’s goons and let Daryl go away, even figure out where the nest is and told them to walk north, less than a day, Mont Saint Michel after he picks up Daryl watch from the floor and he kept it, I wonder if latter on Genet will figure out that’s the Nest??, at Mont Saint Michael the entire town was expecting Laurent. Not much happen after they arrive but to me this part of the episode was not boring since the place, the castle, the scenery was beautiful, sometimes I imagine all the people that work to build places like that and even live for so long there while my country still had nothing similar, this is for many other countries, Europe was WWWAAAYYYY more advance back then.
Codron was stupid enough to go back alone to Genet with the story on his hand that everyone got killed except him because he was chasing Laurent and Daryl killed the rest of Genet’s goons, cmon that was stupid as fuck, she came up with this story of how she work for a long time as security at a museum and learn to read paintings, who was lying just by looking at their eyes.
At The Nest, the got Daryl a ride back home and he decided it was time to go home, on his way he found the his grand father tomb, he was a soldier who died in France during war, close to that field Daryl had to fight Zombies and from there with the episode so close to finish if you look at the time left it was uncertain was going to happen but those Zombies were really looking for him because of Laurent, he was close and Zombies following WTF!! after all the kid does seem to have some power or control over Zombies that he has not develop obviously because no body have though of that, to make things even better there is a small scene when Carol shows up after following a biker who had Daryl’s bike, he never saw it coming but in matter of minutes she already had him tight down in the trunk of her car, he tells where he got the bike and now she is on her way to the same guys who put Daryl on the ship in the first place.
Episode six left us with a couple of hot topics hanging for next season
Laurent powers over Zombies, what they really are? will he develop it?
Genet caught Cordon who has Daryl pocket watch, will she figure out where is the Nest and attack?
Carol is on her way to the camp where Daryl got imprison, will she fucked up?
Season one of Daryl Dixon was just awesome, the entire season got an average of 7.7/10 with the last episode an 8.6/10 at IMDB and numbers do make sense compare to what I saw, it was way better than Dead City, more action, more similar to the OG series from the theme of the scenes, colors, even the intro was on a similar vibe and that is very important for the brand to go on and keep fans interested, I think that’s probably why Dead City didn’t got that much acceptance and to be honest Daryl Dixon spinn off at first I was a bit skeptical because are they really going to release two spinn off the same year so close to each other considering Fear The Walking Dead was still running but it turn out to be more successful than I expected, this series goes against what I have mention of a minimum of 8 episodes but it is very rare to be this successful with very little episodes, consider it had one of the bad ass characters from the OG series, on 2024 there will be the continuation of Dead City and Daryl Dixon plus there will be another spinn off “The Ones Who Live” where there will be Rick and Michonne as main characters, I have higher expectations for this next spinn off.
Not only me but many had high hopes on Secret Invasion, things on the MCU were going from bad to worst but there was still some hope but it all make sense when they announce the MCU reboot my first impression was like OK they ran out of ideas but the truth is that I think they already knew how fucked up it was going to get after End Game, seems that Secret Invasion was one of those last fucked up productions that had a big chance of been great, I also have to admit that there is a slight probability that the Hollywood strike had a big impact on it but still the right decision was probably to wait and do things right but on the entertainment industry this is the example of taking the hit and move on, this is nothing for them so it is easy to just release a mini series with a crappy ending, because its the last two episodes that fuck it up, that is how it got such low scores everywhere, even someone who some what enjoy the first five episodes they got to the last one and think WTF just happen?? The worst mistake on this episode was the fact that they constantly interrupt the main fight that had good special effects, kept pause/play with a stupid argument between Fury and Rhodey at the hospital when Fury was trying to safe the president, I think their intention was to increase the dopamine levels of viewers, like who is going do die first?? Giah at the fight? the president at the hospital? c’mon the fight between G’iah and Gravik was the main event of the evening how could you just kept interrupting, this let to very confusing and blurry scenes during the fight, If you take the entire fight alone without the interruptions it was not bad.
I love doing this kind of recaps because it helps me to not let slide those details you usually miss because of the dopamine rush but I do hate when the flow of the story gets interrupted so much becoming erratic.
Even after we already know the outcome of this episode if you still decide to give it a try like me, after all I had to close this chapter I’m not the type of person that build my opinion on what others say or think, I might watch the worst movie ever but if I like it still say it.
Episode started OK, Fury went to Skrullos, Gravik’s HQ, consider that everyone on that compound is a Skrull so for Fury they were all enemies, no hostages, anyone on his way is going down, things between Priscilla and him are a bit sour after he find out she was in contact with Gravik, true she is a Skrull but Fury decided to become his husband no matter the species differences, we are not talking anymore culture or religion, she is from another planet so that’s a lot of trust from him and she decided to stay in contact with his enemy and even denied so he is on the fence if trust her again or not.
The only thing that I like from this dialogue up here was how Rhodey was dropping bombs on the Admiral, it was also disturbing since if you have watch other movies when he shows up you know that’s not him, the way he was pushing the bombing on Skrullos forcing the president to take action, but I still like this Rhodey with a lot of attitude not the passive guy we see on Avengers, always a secondary character, he was still on Secret Invasion but had that I Dont Give a Fuck attitude, at the end he ran out of time since Sonya set him up, messing with his mind, making him think Fury was after him and the President so they had to scramble and try to take the President out of the hospital.
This was probably my favorite part of the episode, it was not all bad, the range of the score was from 5 – 7 out of 10, so you can still watch it and say meh could have been better, I have seen worst. This series look like a fucking movie, it had everything to be great, you got Fury trying to out smart a Skrull general who have millions of them on earth and just Fury without any supper powers but very slick. Truth is that Fury is a selfish mother fucker, but I think there are some professions that you have to be like that if not you wont make it to the top, this time been like that was about to byte his ass, Gravik pull up with a lot of revelations like the skin he was wearing was the first human he killed working for Fury and how that consume him and how Fury basically pimped them as a cheap whore, all Skrulls, so this make Talos his main bitch?? massive mic drop.
I bet this is not how things happen but its a mediocre TV adaptation so you can’t ask much, but it was this moment when Super Skrull was going to become a reality, the possibilities were infinite and the way they try to setup a trap I think was good, before it happen I knew Fury was not giving the Harvest that easy, it had all DNA samples from Thanos, Hulk, Captain America, all DNA that was not human was there but still the concept to have it on a single bottle I think made no sense, besides who could take that kind of mutation on a single hit, this was probably worst than trying to handle all the infinity stones, it would never be as easy as I gave you the Harvest you get the fuck out of planet Earth.
The fight was wild, well if it was not getting interrupted every two minutes, I think if you take all the fight scene and put it together would then be a great fight, but again all that interruption cut a lot of cool scenes, I realize this when I was taking all the screenshots for this post from the video, there were scenes that left a lot on the table since you could not really appreciate the punches and wounds, but the fact that Gravik was no match for G’iah also got me thinking that they put it easy for her, on a situation when both have the same powers, too many to use at the same time because G’iah even pull a Mantis move and put Gravik to sleep; this fight was more about who was more creative to combine all this powers, Gravik for the most part was all brute force and G’iah was way smarter to use other powers like the frost blade, she also went all Captain Marvel first and then he imitate her.
Unfortunately the episodes was some what ok until the end of the fight, the rest was very vague and felt the most rush it has been from all other five episodes, party is over everyone home just like that, Fury goes back to space now with Pricilla, Sonya is now working with G’iah but everything is presented in small snippets scenes, this is why I keep saying at least two more episodes and the outcome of this mini series would have been different, been a mini series is something that piss off viewers who at first thought this would be a full TV series with probably two seasons not every one has time to be checking the Twitter MCU account to know what to expect from this Movies and Series, I started posting about tv series and movies about a year ago, nothing journalistic about it but just putting my opinion as a normie viewer and I have no clue what to expect after the trailer came out, I thought it would be a great watch but the last two episodes destroy it.
I have been giving more though about why things like this happen and I landed on the idea that scrapping out a show like this is nothing for the entertainment industry, unless its on very early stages they stop it without releasing a crappy show but when there already episodes film and some what marketing out they go with it despite it been a low effort production, I wont say its the actors fault because I felt actors were fine, the Gravik part at the reactor with Fury, expressing how he felt about him, how Fury pimped them LOL that was funny, that entire scene was great from Gravik so it was more of a moronic production decision to rush things out instead of finding the budget and time to give it a few more episodes and let the story spread its wings a bit more.
“We are at Home” Doma Smo, as the tittle of episode six says we are at home makes me think if now Negan is at home?? I have now finish season one of Dead City, probably the first spin off of the original The Walking Dead series that really has nothing to do with zombies, at the same time I was watching Daryl Dixon that is a bit different in that sense because over there it has to do a lot with Zombies but not in the traditional way where they are after you only. Season One of Dead City still feels a bit slow and to be honest episode six does feel like a to be continue episode, lot of things are left hanging and we will have to wait for season two, Hollywood Strike is over meaning that productions will start to catch up so probably we will have season two next year.
Episode six finally reveal the true reason why Maggie went looking for Negan, on episode five Giny call Maggie a liar after she find out there was no missing grain at the Hill Top before he escape to Manhattan looking for Negan, episode six also confirm that anyone who thought that The Croat or Maggie wanted to kill Negan it was never the case, the man was more safe than a deposit box, at Manhattan they wanted Negan to lead them, a higher power was behind the curtain waiting, wanting him to be the new king of the hill for the war that is ahead them.
After Giny and Maggie got out of the tunnels for some mystic reason they met with Negan, that’s how TV works so don’t ask me because Negan and Perlie were on their way to the dock, Manhattan is so fucking huge and they just some how manage to met again after all the debacle that is going on, I really thought Giny was going to talk this time like finally she is going to spill the beans but it was Negan that kept talking about how she should not be there etc etc and I was like LET THE GIRL TALK!! but she didn’t and Maggie had the chance to dodge a bullet on the spot after Negan ask him if she knew anything about Giny been there to what she answer mmmeee?? NNNOOO!! asking like she doesn’t know Giny can set her liar ass on fire anytime she wants, meh Negan goes with Maggie after he gave a pep talk to Giny and Marshall Perlie takes Giny back to firm land, back to the Hill Top, at this point Giny becomes irrelevant for the rest of the episode.
Negan and Maggie take refugee inside a tall building, looking out side the window waiting for someone to show up on the streets, The Croat? , well I’m not sure about that because if I was looking for someone I would probably be on the roof top where I have more sight, anyways TV magic again and a car shows up on the main street.
You tell me how they know its The Croat? they decided to go after the car, unless they car parks on the main street, that it didn’t it would be easy to find it ON FOOT!!! this are the things that I dont like about episode six, all this details feel rush, may be when you are watching the episode you dont pay much attention but its the adrenaline and dopamine running through your brain that makes you forget about it, how the fuck they go down twenty story building and still have energy to run after the car??
See,it was not on the main road but lets say that big smoke cloud helps them to locate it, after all Zombies don’t know how to start a fire so there must be humans inside, as they walk into the building, good old silver fox Negan question Maggie about why Giny would come to Manhattan and if she knew anything about it, like he just wanted to understand Giny, you know been a good guy, probably even good step father. It is here where Maggie drops the ball telling Negan she assume Giny wanted to talk to him explain him why she came to Manhattan and Negan was like “Giny talk to me? Did she talk to you? When did Giny start fucking talking?” Giny doesnt even talk with herself, barely whistle.
Maggie pulls one of her knifes after she look at Negan and probably though “Fuck I just fuck it up…Giny talking, that was so stupid of me”, tries to stab Negan but he manage to run away until they get to this scene where they are fighting on top of a structure with a lot of Zombies below them, I knew none of them were going to fall so it was a bit over the top and predictable, you tell me if Negan doesn’t want to change his life and make up for his mistakes in the past that he doesn’t kill Maggie and even let her turn him in.
At this point he finally understood why The Croat took Hershel and why Maggie went looking for Negan, it look weird that when The Croat was chasing him at the stadium it was like he was trying to be friends with him to the point he thought about it latter on but still Negan wanted to do the right thing and help Maggie get back her son from The Croat. The Croat tells Negan how he has been looking for him for months, he want him alive, how after thinking how to get him finally find out about Maggie and knew she was going to be the key to get Negan, Doma Smon saying like we are home Negan, its here where we belong.
They get to a bank where the exchange is going to happen, they had Hershel inside the bank safe, at this point Negan still doubt if he is going to be ok but in that universe they are its most likely he might die, Negan gives in without putting any fight and the only thing he ask from Maggie is to take care of Giny, Maggie felt shitty but probably her thirst of revenge against him was bigger, Maggie gets Hershel but her son is still kidnap even when its free in the out world, mentally Hershel is broken, they already had all kind of problems him knowing about what happen to his father and thinking Maggie tries to safe the world for everyone except him.
After Marshall Perlie drops off Giny at the Hill Top where for now she agree to stay, Perlie goes back to New Babylon where is gets interview by their leader, he let Negan live after they bond, remember Negan safe his ass at the island more than once so he was in debt with him.
Perlie sits there at the office with a few other Marshall, he is welcome as a hero, lie his ass telling them how he killed Negan, I really thought they were going to hang him, Perlie been at Manhattan was actually a happy accident for New Babaylon, seems they are interested in The Croat Methane Mix, he have found a we to turn Zombies into fuel, meaning they can have tech running again, not only cars but generators and other type of machinery with the most abundant resource on Earth at the moment, Zombies.
Back at Manhattan, we get to the final straight of the episode, pedal to the metal, The Croat takes Negan back to their hide out, the building that had the big smoke cloud at the back, its a theater, at the dressing room was the lady he talk to on episode five, The Dama, wtf is with this people and their nicknames starting with “THE”, drop the THE (Facebook), its on this final scene that we get all the details of The Croat plan well The Dama plan because he is just a the tool to get their fuel and now get to Negan, the leader she was looking for, seems Manhattan is split between many groups but united can become a strong force not to fuck with and that’s what she wants, for some time now she hold control over a good part of Manhattan but there is also Harlem, even during the Zombie Apocalypse Harlem remains strong, she believes main land already know of their Zombie based fuel and they coming for it, she also tells Negan how all this can be his she just need him to lead the pack and not to leave him with unanswered questions she explain how she cleverly got him sitting where he is at right now, getting Hershel was not enough so she personally question him and crack him up to the point his soul is now hers, she even took a souvenir, pinky toe, so he never forgets she can go back and take another one, Hershell tells her about how Negan killed his father, besides they have been tracking him, getting intel on him and she figure out Negan must be trying to change his life, make up for his mistakes thats how she knew he would not say NO to help Maggie when she ask for.
Episode six I think gives a good closure but at the same time it doesn’t, it finally tell us exactly why The Croat took Hershel, why Maggie went looking for Nega because episode five tells us it was The Croat that ask her to look for him and bring Negan to him but not the reason why, The Dama came up to the stage and in less than ten minutes gives in all the details that help us crack the code of season one, Negan is the lone wolf they have been looking to lead and unite Manhattan Pack, The Dama loves Negan talent to put up a show and showing the rest who has big balls even when out number and out gun, exactly the type of leader she is looking for to control the entire island, for now looks like her intentions is not to conquer the world but to protect what they have and New Babylon the invaders but that still to be prove on season two.
There were a lot of details that I didn’t like about the series like how they move from one place to another, how they always manage to find each other like they wearing an Apple Tag or something but still when watching TV series you need to understand all this is fiction, meaning all this is a lie and bull shit like that goes on.
For season two I don’t think Maggie, Hershel of the Hill Top is out of the equation, as a fact because of Hershel and Maggie their entire community will be at risk, Marshal Perlie is been interview and caught bullshitting so what if he tells about the Hill Top?? New Babylon would love to take over it, with all the problems going on between Maggie and Hershel, he might run back to The Dama, when the episode is about to be over Maggie found Hershel’s drawings most refer to when he was kidnap and there was a portrait from The Dama so stupid Hershel can run back to her if he feels his mother is not on his side or he doesn’t feel safe or had any other trauma that makes him feel safer over at Manhattan, I see season two been the invasion of Manhattan, not a bad tittle.
Finally I’m done with season one, soon will build up an overall recap giving my opinion about it.
I don’t think, I’m certain this is the most brutal episode I have seen on this series so far, season two of The Wheel of Time pick up the pace episode by episode, as always I’m just a regular viewer, not an expert and have no opinion about the books, I’m not the reading guy but still here I’m writing a blog.
On episode two you will fell the pain and agony of some of the characters, I think at some point even Rand shows how impotent he feels with all this power but still has no clue how to use it or control it, on the other hand there is Egwene how now has a better understanding how to weave and use The One Power but unfortunately she falls into the hands of the Seanchan, given as a Damane to Renna who now controls the leash and now way to escape from her d’ama, a device so powerful that can’t be broken and looks like it feeds from the power of the damane protecting the sul’dam, the one holding the leash in this case Renna, I mention all this about Egwene because she is the one that turns the jets on this episode.
Episode six is like the season exploded in pieces, like it was holding so much information and now even though there are scenes that only have a couple of minutes it goes one after another in an adrenaline rush that you keep asking for more drama, for more fight, more blood, more use of the one power, it is this moment when more than one character shows their power but I think the main reason is been so expose to an enemy like the Seanchan. As I mention there is a rush of feelings going on through the episode because other characters like Liandrin, Ryma, Maigan, Siuan, they all suffer one way of another, some are even torture, broken from the inside once they are under the leash, episode six is really a jewel of season two.
On episode five Moiraine understood that Rand doesn’t need her protection, Selene/Lanfear is in love with him, that’s their never ending story, both are entities that reincarnate in the case of Rand although Lanfear never dies she can only be contain so she does remember every time this exact same thing happens, every time the Dragon is Reborn and at some moment in his life she meets him again, the most easy way for Rand to contact Lanfear is in the world of dreams but she feels Lanfear is going to hurt him or worst kill him, Rand is outgun at Lanfear world of dreams but he is safe, Lanfear wants him with her, for her, so he can trust her, she wont hurt him in exchange Rand ask her to help him in Ishamael to that she puts one condition, NO MOIRAINE.
Lanfear explicitly tells Rand that if she sees Moiraine next to him she will kill her so he had to go away, from her house, Rand feels now that more than ever he needs to wild his power and be able to control it, some times Moiraine is a bitch too, he will visit the only man who can teach him, Logain; but then she told him SHE put him away from the Tower so he never be able to teach him but that’s not true, Logain knows now that all this happening, him and Rand at the same place its Moiraine’s work.
Thanks to Moiraine now Lanfear can reach Rand anytime he sleeps, he keeps having nightmares of how he keels everyone he loves, at least that the curse of men who wild The One Power, Ishamael is also a dream walker and torment Rand but Lanfear protects him now, she even grand him a wish, she ask Rand who he would like to see and he ask for Egwene, Lanfear shows him the cell she is in, she looks beaten, no shows, desperate and Egwene can hear him but cant see him, this broke him and now is determine to safe her. Lanfear gets jealous when he ask her where Egwene is but still tells him Ishamael got her and THATS when Rand makes a pact with the devil, he tells Lanfear he will do anything to rescue her basically asking Lanfear help me and I’m yours.
Talking about making pacts with the devil there are a few rules, first rule is you can’t take it back if you try you will suffer the concurrences and most of the time before you get what you ask for you will go through a series of extreme suffering that will leave a permanent mark in your soul.
This is exactly what happens to Liandrin when Lanfear pays her a visit, I think Lanfear doesn’t know all the details of Ishamael plans and knows Liandrin is working for him, although the oath was not to Ishamael but to the Dark, she kills Liandin’s son Aludran in front of her, a way to bully the powerful Liandrin, showing her she is not on the same league as Lanfear, then she tells Liandrin “there are many paths to walk through the night” , I think what she is trying to tell Liandrin is that she doesn’t work for Ishamael but for the Dark, in this case Liandrin represents the Dark Power while Ishamael is just a messenger, I’m sure Lanfear is doing all this to help Rand, Lanfear is on the same side as Ishamael but doesn’t work with or for him.
Lets get to the meat and potatoes of episode six, Renna and Egwene. Renna is a Seanchaw in Falme, I always say I’m ok with inconsistencies and in this case looking up who was Renna I find out a particular fact online about the book, Renna held Egwene leash after she was collar and on the series she let Egwene kept her name but on the book she didn’t she change Egwene name to Tuli and some other details that are different in the story, point been Renna was Egwene’s d’man who really wanted to be on Egwene good side so they can be one making them the strongest couple in the entire army but Egwene refuse and kept trying to release her.
Renna kept trying to be on Egwene good side and one day show her how powerful they can be together, that was the first time they channel together, Renna must have some kind of power too, probably she cant channel as Egwene but there is something between them or its just the collar and the leash that creates the bridge between them, Egwene felt it but she also felt something else and I think it was Renna help, I still believe that she can some how channel but may be they were not though how to. On the series not many details are given on how exactly the a’dam work only the obvious.
The A’dam is design to protect the one holding the leash, you know how you can also sin of though, well the a’dam very well brings that to life, the Damane cant get her hands on anything she thinks can use to damage her sul’dam, Renna test for Egwene was very simple, serve me a glass of water, Egwene constantly failed, she has to be pure of though before she can even serve Renna a glass of water, on the next cell was Maigan Sedai who was send by the Amyrlin Seat to scout the Seanchan but eventually got caught and collar, she mention how Egwene lasted more than her and she was a Blue Ajah, to become a Damane they have to be pure of though against her sul’dam, this break Egwene soul the moment she was able to serve Renna a glass of water.
When Nynaeve and Elayne escape from High Lady Suroth after been betrayed by Liandrin, they went after Egwene ending in Falme where Ryma Sedai got them first before the Seanchaw army who was looking for them through the city and kept patrolling the city looking for any infiltrates, Nynaeve tells Ryma about Liandrin how she is friends with the dark and have broken her oath, she also tells about Egwene been collar and want to rescue but Ryma makes them aware of the collar that so far no one have broke out of it, the three Ryma, Nynaeve and Elayne channel together without pushing too much power into the collar so others Damane cant detect them, the only one who felt something more was Nynaeve she actually understand the collar, its like the collar is ill or curse and the only way to be fix or heal is by putting it to a women, in this case a women that channel and it CAN NOT be broken.
The local patrol discover their hide out, they felt the power, both Ryma and her warden Basan sacrifice themself trying to stop the Seanchan before they discover Nynaeve and Elayne, this fight was also very brutal both when Ryma explode in tears after Basan was killed, how she almost turn into a ball the Sul’dan that killed him but they were out number, after so long she finally would join her sister Maigan Sedai after been collar.
Rand is about to go to Falme and rescue Egwene, he knows Ishamael will be waiting for him that’s why he got his hands on Egwene, probably he was only willing to get Nynaeve and drag Rand to flame after capturing her through Liandrin but he end up with Egwene that would still work for him, Rand visits Logain so he could teach him how to channel but its too little time and too soon, channeling is something that takes time and in the case of Rand he needs to be very careful if you will blow into dust after taking too much power, on this scene Logain only tells him the start but Rand goes further taking too much power and ends up puking, this was very lame in my opinion because right after this he decides to still rescue Egwene knowing he is no match for Ishamael and has no control over his powers.
Mat is now in Cairhien after Min brought him, she was instructed by Liandrin and Ishamael in exchange she ask him to get rid of her visions, all her life her visions were curse that make her life miserable after been used as a fortune teller since she was a kid, not only that but seen other people die before they even get to know each other, she saw Mat killing Rand and still betray him. Mat and Rand found each other in the streets on Cairhein then had a drink but Rand had to tell him the truth because he was in a hurry, so both agree to got to Falme and rescue Egwene, another stupid idea, the two will safe Egwene from a place flooded by Seanchan besides the fact that is Ishamael is waiting for them.
Mat agrees with Rand to meet at the gate in one hour, before Mat leaves with Rand he visits Min to let her know but she is drunk, she was visited by Ishamael, he ask her to make sure Mat leaves with Rand and realize they both know about her vision, Ishamael break their deal and ask her to do this one last thing, she gets drunk and when Mats get to tell her he is leaving with Rand tells him the truth, Mats is broken, after loosing everything and his friends he is and feels betrayed by Min who he truly consider a friend, Mat doesn’t have a good record when feeling down, the last time he felt this way end up been consume by the dark power inside a knife and that’s what I thought it was going to happen because Min vision is that Mat kills Rand with the knife but no body knows when, where and why, Mat gets pissed off and leaves the room but never left Cairhein with Rand who after waiting more than an hour decides to leave without Mat.
The Amyrlin Seat, Siaun Sanche, leader of the Aes Sedai arrive to Cairhein after Lan confess to her about Moiraine plans that she have found The Dragon Reborn, he betray Moiraine trust by doing this but he was trying to protect her from herself, Moiraine was decided to die if necessary to protect Rand but without the help of The White Tower, she didn’t want them to cage him like an animal and use him as a weapon, when The Amyrlin Seat knows she put together fourteen Aes Sedai in Cairhein a very unusual move but her plan is to capture Rand for this she brings all her sister’s power in case Rand turns out to be more skill than she thought.
I have seen longer posts on Hive but this is a new record for me, not all of this is part of my imagination as I’m just giving my opinion on the different scenes. Episode six of The Wheel of Time feels as I mention, very brutal specially the scenes of Liandrin loosing her son, how Lanfear catch her Liandrin attack when she got into the room like it was nothing, that moment she knows there is no chance she can even touch Lanfear after all she is one of the most dangerous and powerful forsaken and then had to watch how Lanfear kills her son, the reason why she betray her sisters and broke her oath, because if we think about it yes Liandrin doesnt like anyone at the white tower and if it was for her she would be in charge and only Red Aes Sedai existed but wouldn’t betray them if it wasn’t for her son that was dying so seen Lanfear kill him broke Liandrin badly, Lanfear also remind her of why she doesn’t like men and its because she was force to get married very little basically abuse by men at a very young age that’s why she hate so much men specially those that can channel like Logain. All the scenes where Egwene was force against her will to obey, act and thought, was very difficult to digest, all that power contain, how she feels incapable of doing anything to get free of the collar, every time she tries to take it off, attack Renna or even get close to her or touch something she might think to use against Renna the collar push her making her twist and puke out of pain, ironically Renna kept trying to be “her friend” even showing her how powerful they can be together but at the same time treating Egwene as her powerful pet on a leash and the moment when she finally serve the cup and then screams out of her lungs. Episode six reveal many details of both sides plans:
Lan tells The Amyrlin Seat, Moiraine plans and about Rand (The Dragon Reborn)
Lanfear gets on Rand side, helping him against Ishamael
Lanfear gets Liandrin to work for her and not Ishamael
Ryma learns about Liandrin treason, even probably why her sisters got caught at Falme
It was Liandrin who kept talking about the invation and probably why Ryma end up in Falme
Mat finally knows Min set him up to meet with Rand
It was secret after secret reveal almost every scene, not much fighting and action happen across the episode except for Ryma and her warden fighting the Seanchan army so I guess the next two episodes will have more fighting and action, even some more treason between sides, there were some scenes that I didn’t mention because I felt they were not as important, for example there as an argument between Moiraine and her sister about her been Moiraine and not giving a shit about anyone when she is busy, also how Lan was basically force to tell the truth about why he wanted to go to Cairhein that was to visit Moiraine but when Alanna and her two warden threat to kill him if he didn’t tell the truth Lan gave up so they caught up with The Amyrlin Seat, it was not on her plans to visit Cairhein and setup such a great force of all her sisters until she knew The Dragon Reborn was probably there, Lan snitching on Moiraine was very shitty of him because one way or another he betray her trust, you got to sink with the ship when it comes to trust.
Episode six wakes up real Mason Kane, Carter find out a way to rebuild the backup that he had of Mason’s memory, on episode one or two Mason recover a briefcase that contain two injections, one was Nadia Sinh memories and the other one was his but his got damage and everyone thought his memories were gone, well things turn out to be worst than I thought and real Mason Kane is sneaky, selfish and will betray anyone who is not on his best interest, seems that he haven’t forgotten what has happen all this time he was living his second life, with Celeste as his wife and having a daughter with her, when he match both lifes together it seems he doesn’t like himself, he cant stand what he did in the past and how things turn out to be, he would have never thought Celeste Graham who he intentionally wipe out her memory knowing Nadia was the one who took the Oz key, he never thought she would end up as his wife, if he ever tells her the truth probably Nadia and Celeste would team up and kill him.
This episode did had a lot of action, nuclear submarine, sky diving, shooting inside the submarine, disarm nuclear rockets before you run out of air, it was very intense towards the end plus most of the conspiracy finish unfolding, its reveal who Mason was working with and what he would do to get what he wants in this case was Nadia, Mason is a control freak and once took Citadel as hostage when he setup the submarine access with his own bio-metric finger print, no body else but only him could access just to have leverage over Citadel and made them tell him where was Nadia and bring her back, seems she dodge a bullet not marrying him.
This episode is mostly about Mason, after all he recover his memory on this episode, he explains how he became a spy, he wanted to be some one but not for fame, when he was a kid his dad died and his mother left him so he was a man without country without flag, the only person he had was his grand mother, turns out his grand mother was Dahlia Archer the very same person who run Manticore so you probably have an idea who sold out Citadel.
Dahlia has Mason daughter and is using her to get him take control of the submarine since she wants the nuclear missiles, during their interaction she never calls him son or show any kind of affection, that would reveal her cards
Eight years ago, Citadel plan to hack into a Russian nuclear submarine that was fully automated, inside there were nuclear missiles so the target was to install a backdoor into the submarine system so if it was necessary any Citadel agent with enough access could stop the Russians from launching this nuclear weapons, Mason saw this as an opportunity to turn the submarine into his personal gadget to force Citadel bring back Nadia Sinh, this guy is not a force to be reckoned with.
Bernard once told Mason, even he doesn’t remember who he is all his training and skills are still there, its all muscle memory, he had to jump from a plain and land on a moving submarine for sure no one including Nadia have faith he would nail it, and he almost didn’t but Davik was with him and help him at first, only because he needed Mason to access the submarine.
Nadia smell that something was wrong when Mason was not answering communication, Davik almost got him killed so she jump to the submarine and took control of the situation, after she and Mason got Davik under control she had to now disarm the nukes although to get into the room had to lower her both temperature and there was not enough air in the room for her to disarm all missiles, she pull it out seconds before she pass out. They were now on their way to exchange the nukes cores for the Nadias daughter, Dahlia try to setup them but Nadia and Mason out smart her team.
Probably every man who has a family and a mistress, they are all back into Citadel old HQ, there is Nadia and her daughter, Masons daughter; also Celeste/Abby now Mason’s wife with their daughter too, but he still doesn’t have his memories back as Mason Kane, the only one who caught the flow of the room was Carter like damn this guy.
Once Mason recover his memories everything came to the light, he was Dahlia grand son who wanted to destroy Citadel for what they did to her and her son, Mason’s father, she describe how they kill him, how they kill an entire building with UN workers, infants, all innocent, how they destroy the evidence and every confession, but Mason was at Citadel for other reasons, not help Dahlia, but once he could not make Citadel do as he wanted, locate Nadia and bring her back, he went to his grand mother for help to locate her, only problem is that she ask him in exchange to infiltrate Citadel and give her Citadel secrets, lets make clear there is no scene where he accepts but Dahlia shows up next talking with some one reveling all Citadel agents location and to take them out, I cant confirm it was Mason who sold out Citadel but we can confirm it was not Nadia.
At the end of the episode there is Mason Kane in what looks like an interrogation room, Nadia on the other side of the mirror, Celeste comes in an ask Mason “Do you remember?” , with a despicable look he answers I don’t know, Nadia turns back with a look, on her mind she was like this MF again with his mind games, its worst now because they don’t know for sure if he remembers anything.
After this episode I give Citadel season one a solid 7.5/10 , lot of action, actors are not the best but good enough to keep me glue to the screen for the entire episode, wanting to know more about Mason past and what he did to get to Nadia, episode six was a great ending for the first season, I hope this story goes for another two or three seasons if possible, the production, music, everything feels exactly like that European spy style movie, if you are realistic with your expectations Citadel wont disappoint you, towards the end there is a scene with a woman who looks like Celeste but I’m not sure if that’s a scene from their past life before everyone got their memories wipe out. Mason turn out to be the worst of all of them, they were all sneaky spies but he had this ability to lie, manipulate people and been the bad ass of the series, he almost got the beautiful Nadia under his control but she knew better, she was not as easy as he wanted, I like the love story between them how she never fall into his trap and always knew she could not trust Mason Kane.
Episode 6 of The Patient shows Alan desperation, after everything he has gone through he still willing to change Sam and I say change because I don’t think he wants to help him, Sam needs more than therapy probably even medication all Sam wants is to go home so he is willing to do what ever it takes to get out of that room if that means change or trick Sam’s thoughts, some how he needs to find a way to make Sam think he is cured, sounds ridiculous but that’s all he needs, he doesn’t even need to actually cure Sam all he needs is for Sam to believe it.
Elias is dead, Sam killed him right in front of Sam and that’s perturbating him, both killing and watch some one die for the first time must be a high impact experience, worst part in this case for Alan is that he is the one trying to prevent it, trying to control Sam madness and in some way he failed, not because it was his responsibility but because he is the one trying to make Sam stop, he has been force into this situation, I wont say he has lost the war but did lost that battle forcing him to the extreme of going into his own reality. Its not strange for therapist to go to therapy, they are humans too and some use it as a way to expand their point of view and knowledge, the part that is a bit disturbing for Sam is that he is talking to his dead therapist in his mind trying to find ways to convivence Sam he is cured, Alan is talking to himself at the end of the day.
It has taken me a few weeks not say months to finish this mini series, with so many things that went out in the past two months this is not a priority for me but still have four episodes to watch, I really like Steve performance so far, everything around him is vague and seen him been the star of the show that so far only has three main characters plus he is out of his usual comedy character its amazing how good this mini series is so far considering all this things.
This is Charlie, unfortunately for Alan he is dead, he was Alan therapist but he is not the one talking to Alan at the moment, under extreme circumstances of pressure like the one Alan is experiencing at the moment with this situation that he is the prisoner of a serial killer who just killed some one in front of him its normal for a human to isolate into his own world, at least Alan is still conscious of the situation, the reflection of Charlie seems to have a more raw and open mind than Alan himself, during their conversation he basically said man up and get out of this situation alive, for Alan is not that hard since he explain Sam has the control of the environment and Alan holds no power over him but there seems to be some some level of empathy within Sam and that’s something Alan will have to exploit, make it grow.
I remember seen on Mind Hunters, a Netflix Series, that serial killers do study Cops TV shows to not get caught, this is something Sam mention in the past, thats the reason why he have decided to burry Elias in his basement, he also had Alan help to dig the hole, this is the first time he brought one of his victims home and knows there is a chance if he throws Elias body on a street or alley, anywhere out side of his home, police can track him down, some how.
Between this period of isolation, Alan paints the perfect picture of how he feels every time Sam calls him, he feels as a prisoner sentence to death without any chance to escape, I think on the next to episodes we will finally see Alan taking a shot at Sam, since the first episodes he had this fantasy of hitting Sam in his head with a vase but he feels he is too old and weak to fight Sam, at some point desperation will be so big that he will loose his cool and attack Sam, something that actually Charlie suggested.
Charlie suggested to basically throw Sam’s mother under the bus after Sam said he have tried everything he can to divert Sam from feeling angry, kill people and live in the past where he was abuse by his father, may be letting Sam know his mother had to do with his father abusing him because she did nothing about it or not enough would divide in half all this feelings and may be he could think it was not all his father fault, that could go both ways too, calm him down a bit or infuriate him more because both his parents abuse him? I don’t think Sam is going to forgive his father yet, that’s Alan second chance to make Sam forgive his father that would make him stop killing people.
Alan keeps working on Sam’s empathy, one of the very few cards he has left, he knows there is some so he exploit it, he makes Sam believe that by throwing the body on a place that can be found will make he grow as a person, for letting Elias family to find the body and relief them from the suspense if he is alive or not, sounds stupid and only some one who has no conscience would think “I kill him but at least I let their family find his body” , some one with Sam’s mental health problem would think that way, there is no guilt within him. Alan came up with this idea to stick a note on Elias dead body so when they do the autopsy can find this not, hopefully is not too late. The note mentions Sam although not sure what are the next two words, then mention Alan son and daughter saying he loves them, Alan doesn’t know Sam address but at least should have put his last name something like “Sam Fortner kill him” and then his last name too “Alan Strauss please help kidnap” that why the police will start looking for Sam and find Alan.
Alan is starting to loose it, soon he will be in survivor mode beyond fear, there is nothing more dangerous than a man who has nothing too loose, right now he is in a process where he is starting to hallucinate based on the situation, he is starting to talk to his dead therapist, in this case his subcontinent that is telling him to go all in, take Sam by surprise and beat him up but in reality he don’t see himself having the courage to do so, this is something every human goes through when feeling start to accumulate until the pressure makes you blow up, this is Alan at the moment, when he comes back to earth he keeps trying to manipulate Sam to his advantage but his efforts to escape are still very vague, there will be confrontation soon, for a mini series with short screen time it is exciting and the short amount of film makes you want to see more, I have enjoy it so far but if you probably sit down and watch it in five or six hours wont be the same experience.
Episode 6 of The Silo, Season One, reveals the Silo Monitor Center, Jules has a very different perspective from the Silo than many of the people living in it, since she met George she got sucked into this conspiracy that George was trying to unveil but unfortunately for both he ran out of time after he was found dead, allegedly he either jump from one of the stairs rails or someone pushes him; Jules lost interest on the conspiracy theory, the conspiracy has been proven to get you killed after George died and Holston was sent out to clean, but she did step in as a Sheriff initially with the intentions to find out what really happened to George not because Holston ask her too or because it was the right thing to do, serve when duty calls, it was mainly to figure out who killed George but recent events like the death of the Mayor and Deputy Marnes have actually put work on her hands and a motive to be a real Sheriff trying to find out if this conspiracy George was obsessed to reveal also killed this two characters that now were so close to her, down the road this events also push Juliette away from persuing her first goal letting her to think its time to go back home and forget everything that happen but she has a great mentor in Martha who tells her to stay firm on her believes and finish what she started, the seek for the truth of George death and indirectly figure out if there is really something more than the Silo itself out there, it took Juliette a few minutes to put her shit together and move forward, she is after all a women with a very strong character and mind of her own who rarely let others influence on her believes but its hard not to when others are one or two step ahead, on this episode its confirm that everyone on the Silo is been watched both by video and audio, they can see you and listen to your conversations, they know what you did, where you at and what you said, this circuanstances will make you doubt and probably whats exactly what happen to Juliette, yes at first she was chocked by what Kathleen told he about George but she should probably trust more George if she really knew him and think that some things he did he had to do in order to move forward with his investigation, he was constantly walking out of the Silo Law line and probably could not be as straight forward as Kathleen or Juliette may wanted too, women more often than men are hardly impact on their decisions by love, it can even make Juliette doubt about her believes after all she is human, mixed feelings almost tip her over.
From all these DOOMS DAY TV series I think Silo gets very close to what will happen to the planet and the human race if things go south with the climate, humans might be forced to live underground, it really surprises me how on the series things like this candy dispenser, at least that’s what it looks like, is banned, Judicial make it illegal for anyone to have something like it, there is a lot of truth on George words when he said: “why do they make it a risk to our lives to have them?”, the answer to that question is that it sparks to more questions like from where did it come from, are there any more like it? when and why is it here? , these are questions that lead to the main question, why are we hiding on this Silo? because so far nobody mentions why they lived inside the Silo, the only thing close to a reason is that the “founders” knew better and put them there but who are the founders and why did they build the Silo, Curious George knew better and was working on answering this question, the big question.
That same little plastic ducky started an investigation and almost broke apart Juliette and Billings, even on the pact they had those things like this are the gateway to criminal activity but it’s not the object the problem it’s the questions that it raises among the people on the Silo, plus if we think about it there must be a lot of people that is not sane inside that enclosure, yes the Silo is very big and sometimes looks like a very small city on the inside it still a close environment.
In episode six we get to see Judge Meadows, the person who is “supposed” to be in charge of the Judicial department but in fact, it’s very clear that its all an illusion, Robert Sims is clearly who dictates the tone of the conversation in the room, she clearly looks manipulated by Sims and also looks sick, wouldn’t be strange that in the future she dies because she was slowly poison.
A living example of someone who probably almost got killed because of having or dealing with relics in the past and has now stopped caring about them is Patrick, he has the look of a guy who is trying to change his life, not the most honest man on the Silo probably but for sure looks afraid of having anything to do with relics as he explains how it destroy his life, he gave Juliette the only name he could, the only dealer he could rat out but in fact, it was because Judicial already knew about her, Juliette is looking for answers behind the plastic duck relic, answers that could lead her to the murder of the mayor but in fact takes her to a dark corner.
When Juliette took the Sheriff’s job she did it for love, she wanted to figure out who killed George as she was so sure he didn’t commit suicide, a recent event especially starting the investigation of where this relic came from, got her to almost change her mind, take in consideration she wanted to know because initially, George gave it to her so she knew anyone who got it after that probably got it from George, Julliete fix George watch because she truly loves him and makes her feel special but finding out that he used other people to continue his quest to unveil the answer to the big question got her think twice if he really love her or was she just part of his quest? Kathleen, the woman on the second picture, almost got Juliette doubt of George’s true motives, Juliette almost quit and went back to mechanical.
The minute Juliette talk to Kathleen, Sims got notified, Sims brings Bernard (temporary mayor) to question her motives because they knew Kathleen hold some information that might raise the same questions George had about the Silo. Juliette manages to shake them off for the time but after a second visit to Kathleen, she gave Juliett a book that not even Sims knew about, a relic before the Silo, until now civilians don’t know they are been watched including Juliette.
Silo is a great series, from episode one it got me hooked, on every episode we get more details about the conspiracy that the management of the Silo runs, and it’s not regular management, its those behind the curtain moving the strings like Bernard and Sims, now when know how they are always a step ahead of everyone but Juliette is slick and will find her way out, it incredible how everything goes back to George, the relic she is investigating might take her to solve three murders but I think Sims is going to stop her, it’s hard for Juliette to do her job when there is a monitoring center with multiple employees watching and listen to her. Episode six also shows Juliette’s decision to find out who killed George and that she really loves him, sometimes you just have to believe in your judgment, even though Kathleen told her he probably used them both Juliette still went back to find out the truth because she loved George, it didn’t matter if he used her, what matter is the moment she spend with him and what she felt when they were together, like when she fix the watch just because watching him happy make her feel the same, that’s true love.
As every other Episode, Episode Six of Drops of God is a storm of mix feelings, at times its very confuse to understand what Alexander was thinking when he thought about all this test and contest, on one side I can see him as a mad man who just want to complicate his children life’s more than it is, he never spend time with them as a father when they were adults and now that he is dead may be he came up with this contest to make their life’s miserable or he was really a philosophical guy who truly wanted to expand their knowledge and give them the opportunity to continue with his business and legacy but wanted them to be prepare for what was next.
Camille at first was the little ugly duckling, she couldn’t smell or taste alcohol but always had that hidden talent, she could turn out to be a great sommelier, she proves himself on this episode because it was not about the taste or smell of the wine, it was the experience, during the series she and her father have mention how a wine can make you feel happy or sad, once she even said she heard music, I think that’s possible changing someone’s mood with wine or any other drink depending one what’s that make the person react is it the smell, taste or a combination of both, at the end its all a chemistry, the human body can be very impulsive and react different ways to certain combinations of flavor and smell so it was never about the fruits and flowers on the painting it was about the story behind both the painting and the wine Alexander choose to match the painting.
There is something that I should have seen coming and it was Luca interest on the Ledger Guide, on the previous episode he asks Camille to continue with it, I knew it was a great business for him but never though he was using Camille all this time just for the Ledger, I bought the story of how good of a friend he was for Alexander but the truth is that he was doing all this for his own benefit, he knew Camille had no chance against Issei so may be he thought is she wins great I get a hold at Alexander wine collection and she continues with the Ledger that was the first target but then if she doesn’t win at least get her to continue with the Ledger Guide so he can keep getting profits from the Ledger Guide also power as all the winemakers on the guide fear Alexander, at least that was the description given by Elisabetta, after the trip to Italy looking for this wine that match the flavors of the painting and understanding it was about the experience and not the flavor or smell, Camille also understood that the Ledger Guide was dangerous and hold too much power over wine makers so she didn’t want to continue it, she told Luca it was her final decision and this is when he who her his true face, got mad as fuck, yell at her, told her how he would make sure she get crush by Issei and loose, throw her out of his restaurant and show her he was manipulating her all this time.
Episodes are not more balance between Issei and Camille, at first it was all Camille but on this episode we get more drama from the Tomine Diamonds, with his father gone Issei start investigating the reasons and how his parents got together to find out his real father is Alexander, without physicals proof yet but things start to make sense so he put his mother Honka “on the horns of a dilemma” either she tells him the truth or he takes his father comb for a DNA test and figure out the truth by himself, she had to give in to keep it a secret just between them to avoid public shame since she is part of a very proud family.
Issei goes savage mode on his mother Honoka, when she asks if he have heard anything from his father he answers “the one who’s dead or the one who’s disappeared?” probably the worst slam down of all episodes so far and its not because she lied to him, this is the result of many years of resentment, the way she treat his father and him too, how cold she is all the time like she doesn’t enjoy been with any of them, this when he threat her to take his father comb for a DNA test or she tells him the truth, she didn’t have to say a word after she took the comb from his hands so its true, Issei father is Alexander.
Lucky for Issei life takes from him but also gives him happiness back, I don’t know how because I consider it too fast but may be he just like him, the way he talks, acts, cook, he has all the swag to pick up girls although Issei doesn’t talk too much but Yurika, the reporter that was covering his story now helping him to locate his father, falls for him and they match that day, it was not all dark clouds for Issei.
Camille decided to go to Italy, Milan, since the painting his father choose for the contest is from Fede Galizia, she takes Lorenzo with her and stay at a local house that servers as motel, they ask the owner Elisabetta where they could find the Galizia’s house and she answer “…fascinating, a lot to learn” like she probably knew something they didn’t, but they got no where so Elisabetta told her to be persistent, Camille didn’t mean it the wrong way but then she push wine makers into let her taste their wines using the Ledger Guide name as a method of pressure so they all accept without asking many questions. When Elisabetta find out about it she was pissed at Camille and her father, saying they were bullies using the Ledger Guide power against wine makers but their thoughts change after Camille taste Elisabetta family wine and discover the real connection between the painting and a bottle of wine, it was Elisabetta’s family wine Casa dei Fossati, it was a great story how Alexander compare Elisabetta and her father bond with Fede and her father Nunzio, this two pair of father and daughter work together to produce a master piece, one in a bottle of wine and the other on a painting.
Camille never saw this coming, she basically gets assaulted by Lucas after she insisted not to continue with the Ledger Guide, on her trip to Italy she finds out and think that the Guide have ruin many peoples life, it holds too much power probably same as his father felt there was a monopoly in France when he was trying to become a professional and exactly what force him to go to Japan to start a new market, Lucas goes all savage and tells Camille he will make sure she gets defeated by Issei but what he doesn’t know is that Issei finds out she is his step sister and that will probably bring them close and work together, Issei looks like a nice guy and honest so that’s probably how he will react when he tells Camille the truth about Alexander been their father.
The reason for the contest is now more clear than before with Issei confirm his father is Alexander, also the fact that Camille find out how powerful the Ledger Guide is, this was probably planned by Alexander too as its the same reason why he went to Japan and start a new market when there was a monopoly in France that would not let him grew his ideas probably he wanted his son and daughter to learn this and continue his legacy with a better direction, at first the contest look like a twisted plan to make them miserable and fight each other for a prize but now its looking like he want to bring them closer, he never had either the opportunity or the words to achieve this since he was push out by both Honoka and Marianne, Issei and Camille mothers, so he build and empire that will unite them in the future.
